How do I remove the air vent grill. This is to a 2006 Ford escape.

most air vent grills are installed before the dash is put in the car to that end you will probably have to remove the dash to get to the back mounting nuts to remove the vent

Air vent removal

most vents are assembled when the dash is on the floor . You may be lucky but I suspect it will be a dash out job . Check with a panel shop as they may have an idea to help you

I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire. I can hear the blower run and change speeds when I turn the nob, but barely any air comes out of the vents. I have removed the blower and checked that. The ducts are clean...

It sounds like vacuum is not getting to the vent, heat and A/C controls. Find the vacuum can. It may be under the hood on one of the inner fenders. The "one-way" check valve is usually located in the line and close to the can, make sure it works properly. The valve could be the very thing that's causing the problem. Trace the lines back to the vacuum block at the intake manifold or fire-wall, and also back to where the line goes thru the fire-wall. Check the can for leaks or obvious holes. They used to be just a plain metal can, but it could be a plastic ball. Check the lines as you go, for breaks and rub-thru's. Move the controls thru all settings and listen for vent door movement. Worst case is a bad vacuum motor or air flow position selector switch, and/or a faulty Blend Door Actuator. If you have been driving around with the Temperature knob or control set at the same spot for months, move it from fully cold to fully hot several times and wait for the air temperature to change each time. This will help reset the blend door and vacuum control system. Hope this helps... Let me know what you find.

Paint removed from vent trim on dash

these vents should snap in. If you look closely at the inside of the vent, there should be either two U shaped cuts on either side with the bottom of the U facing you, or maybey a couple of metal tabs. Either way, you should be able to place a precision screwdiver into the tab and pry it inward on one side then gently pull that side to you. It should rock outwards and come out of the dash if you pull it to the side you took out first. Let me know if this helps :)

Top vent on the dash does not work on my o4 sunfire

it sound like its one of two things 1 it could be the function control knob on the dash is no good or that the vent/ def. door control motor is no good possibly seized up. the second thong that I would suspect is that the door itself is jammed in the on spot

Removing dash board from 1969 chevelle

you will find bolts in the defrost air vents and under any speaker covers. also in the glove box. make things easy and remove the windshield first. can be done with the windshield in place but much harder.
