Open the trunk. There are two small handles at the top of the opening. Pulling them will release the seatback latches.

Check that the air intake hose from the air filter box to the throttle assembly is not loose and that there is no cracks in it. IS the check engine light on? If so, have the vehicle scanned for any codes that may lead you in the right direction

Maybe when the engine moves rearward, something happens to make the engine shut down. Large vacuum leak or a bad electrical harness may be suspected.
