My 1998nissan sentra 4 cyl. 5 speed transwas running fine stopped at light, engine slowly died will not start tries to but backfires in engine not able to start it again

change your fuel filter and get in the habit of pouring an entire bottle of fuel injector cleaner once a month as you fill the tank , pour in the bottle before putting gas for best mixing... also pour a bottle of %70 isoprophil alcohol in the gas tank to rid of all the water at the bottom if your gas tank since condensation occurs nightly...
All this , because you said "it SLOWLY died"

When adding gas in the Jimmy gas is pouring out from line.

You best replace the filler neck so it wont leak, and operate properly. I do not think a vacuum, vapor lock has occurred.

Someone poured soda in my gas tank ,will it foul my plugs

do you know how much ? you can sometimes get away with it in the fuel system if you add some additives or higher grade fuel. but if your not to sure how much was put in its best to empty the tank. sugar in the fuel can block the fuel lines and injectors before even hitting the plugs so would go with emptying the tank but it is up to you. somtimes the filter can deal with the sugar but to muck it will just cut througe the filter.

I cant get the gas tank full

Try slowing down how fast you pump the fuel in, the curve of the tank filler pipe and the stopper valve at the end of the pipe(in the tank)will act as a restriction causing a backup when filling too fast. Or the stopper valve is sticking in the tank. To fix that ,you would have to replace the tank.

Been sittng for a 1 year or so now it spits and sputters good it be bad gas in it now or need to clean fuel injectioners was starting it now and then was fine then one day when we did it is misfiring just...

Today's gas goes very bad very fast. it does ugly things to your fuel tank and system. I would drain the tank and even pour most of it back to do some flushing. After it is empty, fill and add the best injector cleaner. WHOA...........Replace your fuel filter too !!

How do you get the gas tank out of a 1998 g20 van Van would not start, put new starter on it, but when it was cranked it sputtered and died. I thought it could be bad gas because it has not been moved in...

  • You need to start by removing almost all the remain fuel, fuel is very heavy
  • best method is to use a lift to get it off the ground, you could also use ramps to get the room need to drop the tank
  • disconnect the filler spout from the side of the van
  • disconnect the fuel lines
  • use lifting equipment to support the weight of the tank, make sure this is stable
  • carefully remove the tank straps and lower the tank, watch the fuel pump wiring and any other connection that may be in the way while lowering the tank.
