How to replace the power steering belt on a 4g13

ADJUSTMENT

Excessive belt tension will cause damage to the alternator and water pump pulley bearings, while, on the other hand, loose belt tension will produce slip and premature wear on the belt. Therefore, be sure to adjust the belt tension to the proper level.
To adjust the tension on a drive belt, loosen the adjusting bolt or fixing bolt locknut on the alternator, alternator bracket or tension pulley. Then move the alternator or turn the adjusting bolt to adjust belt tension. Once the desired value is reached, secure the bolt or locknut and recheck tension.

How to replace the alternator on a 2003 Mazda MPV

Disconnect the battery at the positive terminal by turning the bolt counterclockwise. Disconnect the alternator's terminal by turning the nut counterclockwise and removing the loop from the terminal bolt. Store these connectors away from the battery.

Remove the belt by pressing on the tension pulley arm firmly, then sliding the belt form underneath the idle pulley wheel. Release the tension pulley and the belt will slacken; it can then be removed from the alternator pulley wheel.

Remove the alternator by turning the mount bolts counterclockwise, then sliding them out of the mount arms. Some models may have mount bolt heads that must be held in place with a wrench while turning the nut. With the mounts free, the alternator can be exchanged for a new unit. Position the new alternator into the mount arms and slide the mount bolts into place, locking them down with the nuts turned clockwise.

Wrap the drive belt around the alternator pulley wheel (groove side down), then press the tension pulley arm and slide the belt back under the idle pulley wheel. Release the tension arm and the belt will automatically adjust to the proper tension.

Reconnect the alternator's terminal loop by placing it over the bolt and turning the nut clockwise. Connect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt clockwise.

How to adject generater blet on 1972 VW

To adjust the belt tension on a 72 you can slightly loosen the bolts that hold the alternator in place, pull the alternator towards the outside of the loop the belt makes, then re-tighten the alternator bolts. If you can't get enough tension through the adjustment you'll need to replace the belt.

Change alternator belt in a mazda mx-3

If your engine are the 1,6 l , it is the same engine as my MX5 91.
You have to remove power steering belt first if you have one. Loosen the mounting bolt located behind the pump pulley, then loosen the tensioner bracket bolts( one on the engine bracket and one in front of the adjusting bolt). After unscrew the adjusting bolt and push down the pump. Remove the belt.
Now, it is the alternator. Loosen the mounting bolt located under the alternator, then loosen the tensioner bracket, but only the only in front of the adjusting bolt. Unscrew the adjusting bolt and pull up the alternator and remove the belt.
When you tightening the new belt, the belt should be able to make a 1/4 turn, to make sure it is not to tight.

Need 2 replace fan belt for mazda 323f 1998

The belt runs on a number of pulleys. One of which is the bottom one, called the crankshaft pulley. This is the one rotating when engine runs, driving the other pulleys with the belt. The crankshaft pulley is not adjustable, so you need to follow the path of the belt around the other pulleys. One of these will be attached to some accessory like an alternator or a water or steering pump. If there is no independent tensioner pulley, one of these accessories will have some sort of tensioning device. Could be a slotted bracket, or a long tensioner bolt that moves the accessory up or down, thereby tightening or loosening the belt tension. When you see which one it is, loosen attaching bolts for that one, and adjust accordingly. TT
