Electrical door locks driver door

Take cover off of unit. Clean area around switch. If you want to do further troubleshooting you must take the unit completely apart. Yesterday I wasted 3 hours on this unit . Replace it, $43.00 at Mach 5 auto.

Lights on power window is blinking and passenger window will not lower from the drivers seat window panel. I have a Scion TC 2006.

First check to ensure the window locks are not on. If they are on simply turn them off and that should resolve your problem. However, I know there are situations in which if you had the battery disconnect it will cause this. Consequently disconnecting the battery can also fix the situation and then follow the below instructions. Or try the passenger side window switch first.

  1. Reconnect the battery terminal or fuse.

  2. Turn ON the ignition switch.

  3. Lower the window of each door halfway or more with the power window switch.

  4. Then close the window fully with the power window switch.

  5. Do not release the switch for at least 2 seconds after the window is fully closed.

Thanks

Replaced the window switch on the drivers door. the drivers window is reversed on the switch. if you pull up on the switch the window goes down and vise versa.

It sounds alot like you may have the wiring plug in backwards. Here is the line of thought. Your switch is a 2 way switch with 2 options up and down. One switch position is on for up and one position is on for down. So what this means is if the wiring is backwards, you are giving the down wires the ON signal when the up switch is pushed and you are giving the up wires ON when down side of the switch is pushed.

I know it is a pain to pull the door apart and test, but the switch does not really know what way is up and down, this is handled by pulsing power to certain wires via the switch. I would advise taking the door apart and checking the positioning of the connector plug into the switch, making sure it is correctly in place.

Please post back if you need anything further or there are any new developments,

Brian

2003 chevy suburan passanger front door is dead window will not move door will not lock. Now drivers door window will not go up have any ideas?

I would check to see if the master switch is sending power to the window motors. Not sure that the unlock is related. The window regulators have been a problem for these vehicles and may need to be replaced

Window switch for driver control and passenger switch window

sounds like you have a passenger window motor problem. Try hitting the right door panel hard, down near the speaker opening and pushing the switch at the same time. If it moves, the motor windings are and needs to be replaced.

Power windows work when they feel like it

It could be the switch, power has to travel though the switch to the window. It could also be a broke wire between the door and body. An easy way to check if it is getting bad is to hold the switch and open and close the door, if you find a spot where the door is opening and the window stops working and when you move the door again it starts working again. Then it is probably the wires. Hope this helps.

First check your fuses. If that doesn't help, then you have to dig further. Do any of the switches work or are they all dead? If all of them are dead, it's possible that your driver's door window button module has died. If it does, no other window buttons will work either because power for all the window buttons comes through the driver's door buttons first before going out to the others.
