Testimonial: "you might be right - you know this is an outdoor cooker right?"

  • Mai Lor May 11, 2017

Yes. Even the temperature show it's low but if it's hot enough to cook. Don't have to replace. You should be good to go back to barbecue business.

I have a Weber carb on a Suzuki samurai. Runs ok but continues to try to run after turning off

this is caused by mixture getting past the idle and being sucked into the combustion chambers and being ignited by the hot spots and combustion pressures
Very common on early english cars and some american cars
The japanese carbies had a solenoid valve that fitted into the idle circuit so that when the ignition was turned off , the solenoid closed off that idle circuit and prevented the problem
you may have to "play " with the idle mixture screws to get a better mix so that the mixture is too rich to run on or change the weber to a model that has the solenoid shut off

1: is fuel pressure.
2: is float level checks.
3: is jetting,
4: is no intake leaks, or it will never idle right or stalls. or races.
if its rich (wrong jets) it will race with air leaks
if it lean (wrong jets) it will stall with air leaks.

5: the choke is off for all above. tuning the silly chock is last.
on my cars, i run a manual choke, so ends that.

I have no power on my 1995 chevy c1500

You need to make sure battery has a full charge, otherwise we're just spinning our wheels. Make sure battery cables are all good. Your saying you grounded the negative battery cable to fender? Usually that battery cable goes to engine block. I have seen accessory ground go from negative battery post to fender lining, in the past. What about a chassis ground, I have seen some that was a braided cable that went from chassis to engine block.
I can't rule out fusible links causing a problem. Did you use a test light and check for voltage at any fuses? Some fuses are hot all the time, some go hot with the key on. You got to have voltage and ground.

Weber carburettor problem on 1971 Ford Cortina

it has a choke plate used for cold starting
if it has 2 throats ( venturis ) then the second throat butterfly is most likely vacuum operated in which case the diaphragm for the operation will be faulty
I suggest that you take it to an accredited shop that overhauls carbies , and firstly have the manual choke fitted then have the unit overhauled

I am geting a ping when i exelorate in my gmc 350 it is 94 2500 van i changed gas went to a hoter plug a freind told me to try seting my timing dot's at 6 oclock with #8 tdc then try to advance or ******...

How many miles? GM engines (dont get me wrong i love 'em) are bad about lifter rattle at high mileage. i wouldnt advance the timing too far for fear of the engine running hotter, try changing to a high mileage oil, maybe even synthetic which has worked for me in the past, so I only use it now form day one.
