Check ALL Power and Ground connections coming off the Battery to circuit anchor points. Ignition and Services fuses for a Power supply. If all proves ok, then go to the Main Ignition control Relay and check the condition of the Pins and Recepticles. That is where your apparent problem may eventually be. But travel the initial route first, looking and feeling for Loose or Dirty connecting points.

I get a dead battery overnight

Check the battery acid in the battery. You can add water to bring the level up. You could have a bad ground and make sure any aftermarket equipment is properly grounded.

Would a altrnator stop a truck for starting

If the alternator is not charging the battery will not charge and kill the battery. The only way the alternator would stop the truck from starting if it was ceased up and even then the starter could turnt the motor over unless the battery is dead.

Head bolt torque specs?

I really really really hope you turned the bolts an additional 90 degrees after torquing to 22 Ft-lbs. Otherwise, you may be taking that head off again.

Best of luck,
