    While driving down the highway

  • solver2010 May 11, 2017

Could be brake pads metal-to metal on front rotors. Could be bad wheel bearing(s). Could be bad CV half-shaft(s). Could be failing differential in the transaxle. Do you have a floor jack available?

  • Lander Roberts May 11, 2017

Yes I do have it right now

  • solver2010 May 11, 2017

Good! Then set the parking brake, then jack up ONE front wheel (pick one), get in, close the door, start the motor, put the tranny in drive, let off the brake, and listen for any roar. Tnen do the same on the opposite side. Any difference between noises? Please note: The intent is to SPIN each wheel, while each is off the ground, with the vehicle STOPPED! Turning the steering wheel S-L-O-W-L-Y throughout it range (left to right) will test the front half-shaft, on whichever side is raised!

Under what conditions? Sitting stopped with engine running? Sitting stopped with engine OFF, transmission in park, but heater / AC blower running? Driving down a highway in a straight line? Driving on a highway, in a gradual curve? Driving in high winds, such as a tornado or hurricane? Driving BACKWARDS?

SOURCE: How do I program my key for my 2006 Chevy Impala?

Add Duplicate Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)
1. Insert an existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key and, within fifteen seconds, insert the new key
and turn it to ON (RUN).
4. The security light will light up for two seconds to indicate success in programming
the key into the vehicle.
Originate New Master Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)

1. Insert new key into ignition cylinder and turn it to the ON (RUN) position.
The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes.
2. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
3. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back on the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
4. After the security light has gone off the third time, the key has been programmed
into the vehicle’s computer and will operate the car. It has replaced ALL the
previous electronic key codes and is the ONLY key programmed into the
vehicle’s computer.

SOURCE: 2006 Chevy Impala reduced engine power

best bet is to stop in at a Pep Boys, Autozone, or similar big autoparts seller, and ask for free trouble code scan, which should pinpoint area causing problem. If not obvious by codes, what is necessary to repair the problem code, get back to us with those codes and we will be glad to assist you further. Better this way, takes away the guess work, and saves you money, as well as getting it right the first time.

SOURCE: Does a 2006 chevy impala ltz have an ashtray you

You will need to order a smokers package from a chevy dealer. It will consist of an ashtray & cigg lighter. The car is prewired for cigg lighter, the pigtail will be located near where the ashtray is mounted. You will also have to install fuse in fuse panel marked cigg.

Roaring noise with my 2006 Chevy Cobalt?

while the wheel bearings still feel tight they are the cause of your problem, after a collision most cars suffer from this problem depending on the speed of the accident the forces encountered during a sudden stop causes intense stress and fatigue on the bearings

Have owned 2 2006 altimas and both have had roaring noise like a wheel bearing going out in right rear

It may be caused by a bad wheel bearing. To be sure, try to swap the 4 wheels and see if there would be changes in the noise location. If it does change, the noise may be from the tires that are not worn out evenly.
