I suppose it is possible - almost anything is possible with motor cars. Like the old saying goes; anything with tyres or testes is going to cause trouble sooner or later, however, I have never known the symptom you describe to be caused by a transmission.
I have known an unfortunate choice of tyres to cause some strange sensations. Some of the early Michelin tyres used to wobble a lot under acceleration. I have known some older tyres to sometimes feel like the wheels are walking along the road rather than rotating but that was at a fairly low speed and neutral throttle opening.
Worn driveline components are by far the most common causes of a less than smooth power delivery with worn inner drive shaft joints the top of my list for strange or unusual wobble sensations.
It is wise to go back to basics and do some serious checking before spending any money...

Did you replace relay and check applicable fuse/s? Usually pins 30 and 87 are on the switch/load side of relay and pin 30 is hot all the time. Pins 85 and 86 are voltage and ground for control/coil side of relay.
If you gave more vehicle info, I'd look up the wiring diagram and post it.

Usually terminals 30 and 87 are on the load/switch side of relay. Terminals 85 and 86 are on the control/coil side of relay.
sounds like a bad idle control sensor, most garages charge $75.00 for a diagnostic, the sensor is about $45.00 it could also be a bad fuel filter,have you been burning 87 octane fuel?[cheapest fuel] ethanol fuel is'nt good for your v.w. at least try to use 89 0ctane but no ethanol fuel!! you can use 87 octaneBUT you need to add octane booster with it, which you can get at the dollar general,wal-mart,k-mart,auto zone,advance auto it's really an economy thing though. what ever your budget is, i have a 87 toyota van and use it every day for qa mechanic svc. i buy 89 octane fuel,i've bought 87 octane and everytime i have,i've had to replace the fuel filter. merry christmas!! and as always, if you need further assistance please repost your question and an expert will be happy to assist you!!
Hi, as with most of my older customers they were driving when higher octane fuels were needed so they think that is still needed today. Your vech. only requires 87 octane it was it will run cooler and get better fuel mileage using 87. Enjoy your new car.
