This question is way to vague, I need to know exactly why the vehicle failed the testing, what fault codes were received. There are many sensors in the van.

Testimonial: "thank you for your inquire we had the van retested and found that it was a 02 sensor so now the problem is finding one to replace it"

ANY auto parts store will have an Oxygen sensor. What fault codes did they read that maybe indicates a bad O2, if it was that easy I really doubt I would make $70,000 a year to fix cars.

NEVER use a salvage yard O2 sensor, EVER! Always buy new and replace O2 sensors in pairs (left and right cylinder banks), never just one. In your case you need to replace the bank one and bank two O2 sensor, these are located in the exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter, you will need a special O2 sensor socket wrench, available from most auto parts stores or online. You can buy the O2 sensors on line from www.rockauto.com, they ship worldwide, also Amazon carries them, or you can also buy them from the dealer, any Chrysler dealer will be able to get them for you. Cost is about $40.00 USD per sensor, cost to install about $100.00 USD. You will need to buy the socket raise and support the car to install the new sensors. Below is a picture of the O@ sensors you need to replace courtesy of www.Rockauto.com

CODE P1699

P1699 No CCD/J1850 Messages Received From The Climate Controlicon1.png Module (CCM) this should not have anything to do with your emission test. Suggest taking to your local auto parts dealer that will pull the codes from your OBDII for free, check your phone book and call them to ask if they offer this service. most national stores will do it because they will then sell you the parts and give advice on repairs

When I was checking my car by the cord reader P0404 and P0406 came up saying that the exhaust gas recirculation sensor was the problem. Will this be a major problem or is it okay to continue driving with...

The EGR valve does one thing--when the engine is warm it opens at appropriate times and mixes some exhaust gas into the fuel/air mixture. This lowers combustion temperatures so that NOx is not created. So the valve itself is for emissions. However, the valve can get sticky with carbon build-up and can stick open--causing rough idle, hard starting when warm, and engine misfires. So if the car is running fine now--then consider yourself lucky.

The engine computer schedules the valve opening and closing. There is a sensor on the valve which tells the computer how far the valve is open and how rapidly the valve is opening or closing. If that sensor goes bad, then the computer has to go to a back up mode. Your car will not pass an emissions test in this mode of operation (and won´t pass anyway if you have codes showing.)

Bottom line: It won't hurt your engine to drive with this issue until it becomes a start or drivability problem or you have to take an emissions test.

Engine code po456/2006 doge caravan

the code your getting is for the evaporator emissions system, look for any vacuum hose or hose that's coming from the canister tank. check to see if its bad or has rotted and fell off,or is closed off,any one of those hoses will cause that to happen,it may just be one that got knocked loose by accident. check any hose that has to do with vacuum or the emission system,a sensor is what caused that code to show up

1996 doge intrepid wont pass emission test because IM monitors ar

Just maybe your O2 sensors are not operating properly. They may be requiring your engine to heat them up to get upper temperature readings but not lower. You can easily diagnose these and all other sensors and problems by purchasing a Hains manual at your local Auto Zone or Advance auto store which will greatly aide you in diagnosing all your auto needs. And the fault symptom index at the beginning of the book will ease your troubles with professional one on one advice with step by step instructions. Its like having your own ASE certified mechanic at your finger tips. Good luck.
