Here's a link to a picture of what the EGR look's like,it's at the back of the engine, easy to remove. When bad, vehicles can experience poor engine performance, poor idle, high NOx emissions, failed emissions test, hesitation, engine surging http://www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/egr-valve/duralast-egr-valve/volvo/960/1995/6-cylinders-9-2-9l-efi-dohc/857098_162245_0

Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5 L poor engine performance, very flat. Good idle, not missing. Could the timing chain be the cause. No codes when scanned.

I would suggest a compression test as an engine with those miles on it will be close to being badly worn
If thee is a chain problem it will not be running

On a 04 Nissan Frontier I replaced the clutch. After several months shaking really bad when I let out on the clutch in first gear. It never does it when cold only after driven awhile.

clutch shudder is from hot spots on the flywheel ,hot spots/warped pressure plate, oil on the flywheel face /pressure plate face, faulty engine mounts. many people think that it is just a matter of replacing the clutch plate but this always results in a poor performing clutch
Installing a clutch kit without first removing the protective coating on the pressure plate is a problem as well
Incorrect tightening sequence of the pressure plate bolts will cause a deformed pressure plate cover resulting in clutch engagement problems
If you have a cable clutch then that is made worse by bad engine mounts. Remember what you did and what you should have done and you will have the answer as to why it is shuddering on take off.

Bottom of intake has a hole in the bottom of it , would that make it pop in the carb ?

You don't say what year, make, or model of vehicle you are asking about. This makes answering difficult. BUT, there should NEVER be a hole in the bottom of an intake. This will cause a reduction in engine vacuum,. introduce dirt and grit into the engine, and cause poor fuel economy and poor engine performance. Get the intake problem fixed and you are well on your way to a better performing vehicle.

My car shakes a lot while at stop lights. Whats wrong?

Poor performance from spark plugs and wires. mine did the same thing. I tried to change the spark plugs, and found oil within and around the spark plug boots, which is problematic, but not the actual cause of your problem. If you find this, your valve cover gasket needs replacing.

If not, just get new plugs and wires. Got that done and shaking almost disappeared completely.

Changed the spark plugs and air filter yesterday and tested compression all good. Car starts but stalling with the engine knocking. Sounds as though its getting fuel. The car chirps when I close the door...

Check the charging system, cars today will not run without the amps to supply the ignition system, just battery voltage will not keep the car running correctly.Look for at least 13.65 to 14.25 volts. The knocking ,I hope is from the car not running on all cylinders. If there is a bad engine knock caused from a crankshaft bearing or rod, then the knock sensor would pick this up,and the computer would try to adjust to this, and can not of course, but that would explain the poor performance. Now if the battery was ever took off the car,or went down to low,the computer could have lost memory, and would have to be re flashed at the dealer to get the engine to run correctly, and the alarm.

You probably have a dead cylinder. like if you have a six cylinder it might be running on only five. could be because of a bad spark plug, ignition coil, fuel injector, plug wire. you should get it checked out.

Having a problem with my 93 camry v6. car shakes when it is idle, when i accelerate car makes a clunking noise and doesnt accelerate as fast as it used to. also check engine light is on. could it be dirty...

Most likely you need motor mounts for the shaking and clunking.
The check engine light being on could cause the accelerating problem. It could be something as simple as the fuel filter being old and plugged up. Have you ever changed the fuel filter? This could cause the engine to run lean making the check engine light come on. And when accelerating the engine will be "starving" for fuel causing poor acceleration.
