Hi

The clicking sound you are hearing is the solenoid trying to engage the starter. The main things you shouls check for this are

  • Flat battery unable to provide enough power to starter - charge battery or obtain a jump start from another vehicle
  • Ensure connections to both battery terminals and the main lead to the starter motor is tight and well secured
  • Check and clean the spade connection on the solenoid itself (has a light gauge wire running to it).
  • The starter itself maybe jammed and a temp fix that sometimes works is to gently tap the starter with a hammer whilst having a helper turn the ignition key
  • If starter remains jammed - starter must be replaced.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Engine wont turn over on my gv 2006

The 1st thing i need to do is clarify what you mean by "won't trun over" do you mean the starter motor spins the engine and it will not fire up or that the starter doesn't trun the engine over? If the starter doesn't turn the engine over do you hear a clicking coming from the starter solenoid when this happens? If so replace the starter solenoid the heavy electrical contacts are burned.

Changed starter and starter relay and it just click's v-8 360 4x4

check the ground cable to the motor, also if you put a socket and try to turn engine from crank bolt, see if you can trun to make sure motor is not locked up, if you can spin the engine with the rachet then you must have a weak battery or bad ground. hope this helps.

Car wont start but lights turn on and the starter was just replaced

see if you get power to small wire at starter when cranking engine, have someone trun key while you test for power at starter, also try to start in neutral and that battery has full charge. good luck.

We just replaced starter & our truck still won't trun on.. we think it might be some wiring messing up. The starter just clicks after turning ignition but won't start.

Clicking tells me either you have a bad battery, battery connection, relay, or ground. Battery needs to be fully charged and load tested before anything else can be done.
