Go to any Autozone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, or NAPA Auto Parts store, and tell them what you think you need, and why you think that!

1993 gmc suburban rough idle, stall in reverse

Idle air control (IAC) control rpm idle during idle.

Test it on idle with ALL electrical on full force.
RPM should increase.
If RPM remain the same then IAC is question.

1994 gmc pickup- starts but when you put it in gear it dies, give it gas it will run but not good

It sound like your idle air control (IAC) valve is dirty and the fuel injectors. Try cleaning the throttle body and IAC with throttle body cleaner, if it's really bad you may have to use two cans of throttle body cleaner to make sure you have all of the carbon and varnish cleaned out. If this does not help, then there is a good chance that the IAC has gone bad and needs to be replaced but also check the wire harness to the IAC and TPS on the throttle body. Good luck and hope this helps and it would not hurt to replace the fuel filter also.

I have a 1994 GMC 2500. Recently on a cold morning it would not shift out of first gear. After about 30 minutes of warm up it started shifting normal. After replacing the filter which was very dirty and...

It sounds like that you have a valve in the valve body, located above the filter, that is sticking due to some of the debris not caught by the clogged filter. If the trans tune does not get it then you will have to remove the valve body then remove the valves manually and clean them. Recomend that you have a professional do it due to the complex nature.
