SOURCE: Hi idle speed for a toyota Corolla 2001

The idle is not adjustable. Look for a disconnected hose or something elde loose under the hood. an intake leak is posible.

SOURCE: vehicle hakes when driving 45 to 50 miles per hour

Check wheel balance,
check steering linkages for loosness - such as tie rod ends, steering rack linkages etc,
check driveline for worn/loose joints and bearings.

SOURCE: My 2000 buick le sabre jerks and loses power while accelerating.

first scan for any codes if it comes up po 300 just a guess it could be random misfire puts the car in limp mode . the igniton modual underneath the coil pacs the coils sit on could be redy to go or if not that check fule pressure by puting fule pressure guage on shrader valve located on fuel rail on top of injector assembly and check fule pressure with fule pressure guage. car of key on pump reading should be around 48-55 key on car on reading should be around 55.minus -3 to 10psi = reading of 38 to45 only if the fule regulator has vacume line atached to it on fule rail dubble check psi reqirments in car manual for co mpleat accuracy. If it doeint have vacume line pressure stays constant 48- 55psi

High idle in park pontiac 04 grand am

Do you have a place where they can check the engine for contamination? Mine had a similar problem it would die after slowing down at the junction, Ask your mechanic to clean the engine and also check the throttle sensor and it will be good as new.

Good luck

When let off gas idle drops down and stalls. Ok at first when cold idle on but once warm stalls when let off gas. Problem started after removed battery terminals to clean with baking soda.

Not too sure about Toyota's but sounds like the computer has "forgotten how to idle". Fords do this when the battery is disconnected, as did some Cadillac's. Ford's solution is to let it idle for 15 minutes to "re-learn" operational characteristics of the engine. Found the following elsewhere:
Disconnecting the battery (for longer than a few moments) causes the onboard Engine Control Computer to reset and forget all the calibration data for your car. (In much the same way that you might have to re-program your favorite radio station push-buttons again.)

When you re-connect the battery and re-start the car, it has to "re-learn" all the correct settings for your particular car's engine all over again and the only way that happens is by actually using the car. Taking the car to the dealer as someone else suggested won't do any good, unless you like paying $65+ per hour for the mechanic to drive your car around and get it all warmed up. :-)

After about the first 10 miles, the idle will be much better. It will take 30-50 miles for the entire re-calibraton to finish. Take a 25 mile interstate road trip one way, turn around and come back home.

Will not go in 4 low 4x4 lights start blinking after trying . reset light by unhooking battery . then goes in 4 high normelly but not 4 low. i thlnk auto 4 is working 4 liter SOHC 1998

Normally 4 wheel drive HIGH is engaged on the fly or as you are moving more than 10 km per hour or 10 miles per hour but 4 wheel drive LOW is engaged at around 3 to 5 mph. no more or you could ruin the transfer case. Try going from 2 high to 4 high by switching back and forth and then try 2 high to 4 low when idling along. What usually happens is the mechanics under the car freeze up or rust up and you have to switch back and forth to free it up.

Car stops running while driving about 25 miles per hour, engine turns over but does not run. have replaced the ignition module and the nob (?) sensor, no improvement, what else should a backyard mechanic...

mcdevito75 here, It could be the air idle sensor, no way to test coin toss. Also maybe a weak fuel pump, and or dirty gas filter, Listen at the gas tank for noise from the fuel pump if noisey change the fuel pump., After your work Stated, I would lean toward the fuel pump, shop can test.

My 2005 Chryler Town & County 93000 mile is having transmission issues. The trans downshifts erratically-no codes-45-55 miles per hour. my mechanic can't seem to fix it. Thanks for your help.

Try replacing the throttle position sensor. They can get 'noisy' electrically which confuses the computer, yet doesn't set a code for the defect. This sensor is supposed to deliver a smooth transition from near zero DC volts to near +5 volts as the throttle position is increased. Hope this helps!

It just suddenly came on, and it won't go over 5 miles per hour. There is engineoil and coolant. there was no warnings

It's not good news when there's engine oil and coolant in the same sentence. Don't drive it anymore and have it looked at by a trusted mechanic. Good Luck.

Sonata Jerks while driving, feel like the engine stalls & starts

I recommend that you find a good reliable shop and have the computer codes checked. Each time the check engine light comes on it also stores a code in the computer that shows which system is not properly operating. While this info is not specific, it is far better than guessing. The de-carbon service is likely not to help. I'm guessing that your problem is in your fuel management system, perhaps a fuel filter, and service to any decel/idle components. But not being there, it's only an educated guess!
good luck

Engine Light on - Jerking when i get to about 45 - 60 miles

get your trouble codes checked with a obd2 code reader. most auto parts stores will do this for free it is the only way to know for sure what is causing the problem most mechanics will charge for this service. it could be anything from a fuel filter to an ignition module it sounds like a misfire but without the codes it's hard to tell. hope this helps
