SOURCE: Loud clicking noise coming from

sounds like the rockers or lifters have some play due to don`t say what rpm you are shifting at other than high changing the oil you have increased the viscosity of the oil as its new and not dirty and thin and cold oil is thicker than warm might want to try a heavier oil to see if it may not get this noise out unless you replace components or adjustment of rockers if they are adjustable.if its not very bad you may have to live with it.

Mazda b3000 pick up truck had loud clicking sound from dash behind airbag panel, while engine was NOT running. Lasted about 10 minutes and stopped.

Sounds like the recirculation door on the cabin air filter access.
Does the noise go away if you turn auto climate off and just choose recirculate or non-recirculate (one or the other). Sounds like the door is off the gears and that's whats causing all the clacking. and is probably happening because when you have it on auto or fresh air mode it is attempting to close the door, and one of the gears is probably broken and it is slipping causing the bang bang bang sound of plastic on plastic.
will go to recirculate to shut off vent to outside when you power off.
Hope this helps a little.
Just use recirculate mode if you don't want to pay to have it fixed. $$$

Loud noise in 5th gear starting at 45mph

Sounds like it might be a transmission mount or engine mount faulty

How do I silence or quieten the reverse noise ?

reverse gear is what is called a spur cut gear and because of that it generally is noisier that the other gears
it runs on it's own idler shaft and there most probably will be a bearing problem that is allowing the mesh of the gears to alter and that will make the reverse noise louder than normal
so it is either a bearing on the way out or because of the way the gears are cut , a tooth could be chipped or partially broken off (slashing reverse inadvertently when selecting from 5th back to 4th)
the fix will be a box overhaul of the bearing or gears

Manual Transmission loud metal noise 5th gear doesn't work

check the drain plug magnet for metal bits . If any the box has to come out gear is straight shaft connection and 5 gear connects from the cluster shaft up to the out put shaft . On either side is a rear main bearing and from your description if that bearing is failed then the 4th gear syncro will not align properly and the gear for 5th will be out of alignment so the syncro to work will not work

1990 gmc k2500 new 5.7engine & turbo 400 ,power lose & noise.

sounds as if you may be looking in the wrong spot. If different gearing is drastically changing the symptoms you may want to check the trans. or torque converter. sudden pop with engine rpm increase and lack of power sounds like possible band breakage in transmission or impellor breakage in torque converter.
