What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

No tail lights

I have found that it could be a blown bulb, but usually if you remove the tail light bulb and look inside it with the lights off and engine off you would see rust/corrosion inside the part that the bulb goes into. I had to use a very small file and flat knife to scrape the rust off so the bulb made a better connection. I also spent a couple bucks to replace the bulbs and I have not had a problem in the last 2 yrs.

Turn on the tail lights and using a test light check to find the existing power wire.
Find the wire that goes to on pin for the bulb and connect together . Next check another wire with some one applying the brakes . find another wire that goes to another pin for the bulb and connect that up . using a multimeter check that the last wire is connected to the bulb socket as an earth. and connect that up to the last wire . If you have a dull stop light then reverse the two power wires

My tail light on my 2003 jeep liberty (left and center only) keeps blowing out I even replaced the entire light socket and it still does it. Is there a relay that I should check. If I replace the bulbs,...

The first thing is to make sure there is no water getting into the lens. there are alot of cheap bulbs out there that dont last long at all, you replaced the socket which is good try this , when you buy a bulb get it from the dealer they will sell you a better bulb it will be a long life type bulb and if theres still a prolem them you will need to have the wiring checked to make sure theres good connections . a bad power or ground wire will destroy the bulb cause a higher than normal amp draw and poping the bulb.

Why would the right rear running light(tail light) constantly burn out. 4 new bulbs in last 4 months, 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. No problems with left tail light. Automatic, Air, 4 wheel drive, 200300...

I have a 2002 JGC as well and its the driver side one with mine. I changed the bulb this last time and used bulb lube to cover all the metal. It worked for a mile then went out again but didnt burn out this time. I checked the contacts on the base and noticed there was some rust, scraped off with blade and used more bulb lube on those contacts too, working for now.

2005 Golf TDI stop light lasts anywhere from zero time to 1 month max. Any suggestions to get a longer lasting solution?

it may not possibly be the bulb, could be a poor electrical connection that intermittantly causes the bulb not to light up
