Go to the wreckers car junk yard and see if you can find another module or buy a new one but yes it sounds faulty... modules are non-serviceable so just get another... Run a code reader just to make sure that it is that module thats faulty

Yes as the sensor is what controls the amount of air flow to the engine by the information coming from the computer - When its disconnected there is free air flow which is why its running better... but when connected its closing (but shouldnt be) and not opening correctly

What cause the engine to run rich and black smoke coming from tail pipe?

hmmm sounds like the fuel pump is more of the issue as its sending too much fuel into the motor making it run rich or the gas that your using is too rich for the motor itself

1989 dodge dakota pickup hard to start when hot and sometimes dies out while i am driving an plenty black smoke comes out the exhaust pipe

You should start by doing a compression test on the engine. They are loaner tools from autozone. Once you do that, if your compression between cylinders varies ~20psi, there is an internal problem with your engine. Could be worn seals or rings.

Pickup is getting hot, have put a new radiator, thermastat, new sensor. now is smoking out the tail pipe and trying to die. There is not water in the oil.

You don't always get water in the oil, with blown head gasket, if the smoke is white or like steam, back head gasket, engine got to hot.Your getting water in the cylinder's, that's why it's running with a cylinder miss.

Black smoke coming out of the tailpipe and engine running rough

Black smoke coming out of the tailpipe is a sign that your engine is flooding. Also makes it run rough.
