My niesson 50 forklift has fuel past regulator. If i take hose off that goestocarb. Release preasure. Put it back and it will start and run for a minute then dies. Then nothing

check the fuel filter it may be plugged or you may have a resriction in the lines. good luck.

yes i had the same problem like too never found it but it was the fuel pressure regulator
and on that engine its located below the upper intake you have too pull it off too get too it!!!
it takes about two hours too do the job!!!

If there is a long crank that is a typical sigh of fuel preasure bleeding down, the first thing I would do is look at the fuel delivery system. With a fuel pressure gauge hook up monitor the pressure and see if it bleeds down after the vehicle has been shut down. Take a look the regulator by removing the vacuum hose while running and see if you see any signs of fuel coming out of the regulator, does not always happen right away may need to run for a few minutes

There is a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. It could be bad. To check this pull off the vacuum line and turn the ignition on without trying to start the car. If fuel comes out of the vacuum hose fitting the fuel pressure regulator is bad. Another possibility is a bad fuel pump. Check your fuel preasure. If low or non exisitant replace fuel pump only after checking fuel pressure regulator. Good luck.

Start by having the computer scanned for codes the codes will telling if theres a problem and can help alot, the car may have a bad fuel preasure regulator where extra fuel is going to engine which makes it hard to start and rough idle, remove the vacuum hose from fuel preasure regulator and start engine if fuel comes out of the hose connection of regulator then replace it.if the regulator is good then go have codes pulled, hope this helps.

This may be due to misfire or needs a tune up, the other problem may be weak fuel preasure, have the computer scanned for any stored codes, see if there are any misfire codes if so i would start with a tune up. one more thing i see alot of on these is check the fuel preasure regulator, remove the vacuum hose from it and start engine if fuel is leaking out of the fitting then replace regulator.

I think I'm vapor lock, what are the causes in this model? I get miss firing as a result of this and it only seems to happen when the car is hot. I've got new plug, wire and coil pack on the vehicle.


the first thing is to scan the computer to locate the cylinder thats misfiring, the next thing would be to have the fuel preasure tested, as it seems like you may be loosing fuel preasure, this can be caused due to a bad fuelpump a clooged fuel or a bad fuel preasure regulator, when you feel the car misfiring remove the vacuum hose to regulator and make sure theres no gas leaking from regulator where the vacuum hose goes, hope this helps, also i would try a fuel system motor vac this clean the injectors and removes carbon build up.good luck.

Start up is rough idle and chokes on acceleration for about 4 to 8 miles then smooths out


sounds like dirt in fuel buy a good fuel cleaner and put it through the fuel system should solve the problem after some miles.adrian,,,,,,,

2000 DURANGO, HARD TO START UP IN MORNING,YOU CAN DRIVE IT, THEN TURN IT OFF AND IT WILL SRART RIGHT UP, IT SEEMS WHEN IT SITS AWHILE IT WANT FIRE UP QUICK


this is common, the fuelpump may be bad, what happens is the fuel drains back into the tank when it sits, so when trying to start it cranks a while until the lines fill and build preasure, the best way to test is to connect fuel gauge to line and watch if preasure drops,another thing is to check fuel preasure regulator for leak, remove vaccum hose and see if fuel leaks out of vaccum port. good luck.

Starts good runs about 5 minutes then runs rough then quits running its a 2000 frontier i changed the fuel filter no help


fuel preasure seems to be dropping off check fuel preasure regulator(gas) or leaks from fuel ilnes and loose fittings (diesel)
