SOURCE: resetting airbag on 2002 kia rio

Typical code readers (OBDII) won't touch the airbag lights. Neither will disconnecting the battery and waiting. If the airbag light is flashing, there's a code involved. The system may or may not work when needed. If it's on steady, the system is failed and will not deploy when needed. Typically, it's a connector in the various harnesses involved. Unfortunately, the Kia shop manuals just say "replace everything" so they're no help. The dealer has the very expensive code reader to read & reset the airbag light. In other words, $$$.

Location 2002 kia sportage blower motor resistor

Sorry I can't say precisely where it is. Blower motor resistors get hot and so they are usually positioned close to the motor and placed where they receive a strong flow of cooling air. Sometimes they are made easily accessible and sometimes quite a bit of dismantling is needed and sometimes contortions are needed when the resistor is buried under the dash.

Where do you find the blower motor resistor

This part is typically attached to the blower motor. Access to the blower motor is normally through the glove box. Once removed. you should see both the blower motor and the resistor. The resistor will have 2 plugs and may be attached to the motor by a screw. This is the most common fix for heaters/AC that don't have all the fan speeds.
