SOURCE: Location of grounding strap 2004 sunfire?

The main ground runs from the battery to the starter and there are many ground wires throughout the vehicle, but I don't thing this will be a ground issue as the alternator is grounded by the bolts holding it mounted to the engine. It is more likely the internal regulator in the alternator failing in my opinion.

Where is the grounding strap located on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

There are grounding straps everywhere on cars and trucks. Begin by looking at the battery. The posts have cables coming from the (+) and (-) terminals. The (+) side has a cable that goes to the starter, solenoid and fuse box. This cable - and the wires connected to it - are insulated and never touches the vehicle frame, body or exposed metal. The (-) cable however is securely fastened to the engine - usually near the starter or other convenient, easy to access location. Additionally, there are copper jumpers or straps that extend from the (-) post to the exposed metal portions of vehicle frame, body panels, dashboard, etc. This provides a path for the (-)12 volts and ensures it is available everywhere on the vehicle with out the need to run a separate (1) wire to each location that has a (+) wire.

Copper is used as it is a better conductor and more flexible than steel. You should be able to connect one lead from a 12 volt test light to the (+) 12 volt battery post and the touch the other lead anywhere on the car that is metal and light the lamp. If the lamp fails to light or lights only dimly - it because the metal isn't connected to the (-) 12 volt side of the battery due to a missing ground strap or because of a poor or rusty steel connection. Placing one or more straps between metal that provides a bright test light and the metal section that provides a dim or no light at all will make the light glow brightly.

2007 F150 5.4 King Cab Rear Windows

Hello Wayne; Focus on the grounding of the cab to chasis. The cab is mounted on rubber pods so direct grounding through a mounting bolt is sketchy.. Motors require a very good ground or the connection will build corrosion and compromise itself. There is a ground strap from engine to cab under the hood. This little strap is primarily for static as the vehicle is driven. It stll should be tight and clean. The grounds that need removal, cleaning and reinstall should be two cables on bolts. The first is the battery negative cable. It is fastened to the engine. The second is a cable or braided strap fastened to the engine and other end to the frame. Chk around the motor mounts. I've found braided grnd straps at those locations. Good Luck and I hope this helped -Ned

Keep blowing wipper fuse in my 91 celica

Check to make sure all grounding straps and grounding wires are in place. Also look for damaged wiring. This is one of those that will amount to chasing ghosts as the time to locate where the issue is will take far longer than the repair itself.

Yup, grounding problem.
There is a grounding strap from the engine to the chassis. It is either loose, corroded, damaged, missing, or otherwise not making good contact with the engine or chassis. If you can't locate it, then ground has been using the "pigtail" wire coming off the negative battery side.
If you had the battery or cables services recently, then the wrong negative cable was installed. Installing a ground strap (AutoZone $8) from engine to chassis is better anyway.

2002 sunfire high beam light will not go off and service light stays on

The mechanic should check on the ignition switch, the head light relay , the control module the fuse and the wires , and the high beam light connection .Maybe because of there is loose wire connection that is grounding that causes the high beam to stay on light and not go off .And also check if there is a wire that is been grounded or grounding to the other wires. The service light will stay on light because of the problem. The high beam of the head light.then you have to reconnect the loose wires or grounding or grounded wires .As I can see there is no malfunctioning or malfunctioned of spare parts because of the light is on and just n don't turn off.

Top vent on the dash does not work on my o4 sunfire

it sound like its one of two things 1 it could be the function control knob on the dash is no good or that the vent/ def. door control motor is no good possibly seized up. the second thong that I would suspect is that the door itself is jammed in the on spot
