Hi, i have a 2008 gwm steed 2.8tdi bakkie. I would like to know where i can find the glow plug relay, fuse and module on the bakkie, and what it looks like,glow plugs not getting hot,new glow plugs

SOURCE: glow plugs wont turn on

They make two relays that will fit but only one will work. Call 772 283-8999 ask for John, He will tell you more than you really want to know, the dude is about the best diesel mechanic I know. You can email him at disinc@fdn.com. Tell him Peppi told you to contact him. If John is not available ask for Ron, he is better at GMC products ( no one is perfect ) but he can help you as well. They are real good guys and will take the time to help and can get parts for anything. Hope this helps

Gwm Steed 2.5D Cleaned crank sensor now it does not want to start what could be the problem.


How did you clean it? If submerged in parts washer, replace unit. I have no idea what a Gwm Steed might be, but why did you clean this part?

Hi , this may sound funny but i found on other pickups that would not start the battery was ok the alt was ok it ended up the coolant sensor was duff replaced it and the car started ok.

white smoke means antifreeze is being burned in combustion chamber-you have a bad head gasket-when you replace it have the head planned or it may happen again -cheers Denny

Glow plug DTC light


glow light bulb could be burned out.but glow plugs is control by ECM AND RELAY.do your vechicle start but you dont see glow plug light on to let you know glow plugs are energized heating up.also check glow plug fuse, look in owner manual in glovecompartment it will show all fuses and relays locations.

Hi there:

DTC P0627 CHRYSLER - Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit
ECM (Engine Control Module) detected an open or short in the fuel pump relay circuit
Possible causes
- Fuel pump circuit open or short
- Fuel pump circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty fuel pump relay
- Faulty fuel pump control module (if applicable)


DTC P0680 - Cylinder 10 Glow Plug Circ, and,

DTC P0681 - Cylinder 11 Glow Plug Circ
The Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a fault in the cylinder #10 or #11 glow plug circuit.


Possible causes
- Cylinder #10, or #11 glow plug circuit is open or shorted
- Faulty cylinder #10 or #11 glow plug
- Faulty glow plug module Help with this


DTC P0688 CHRYSLER - Auto Shutdown Relay Control Circuit Low

The Front Control Module (FCM) has detected the supply voltage below an acceptable value.

Possible causes
- ASD relay circuit is open or shorted
- Failed Auto Shutdown relay
- Failed ECM


Check all the ECM fuses, if the fuses are OK try replacing the ASD relay.
