I am having a problem removing the distributor on my 1988 mercury tracer. I have removed the adjustment bolt but it won't break free. any ideas?

No, don't beat it up. Does it turn with the adjustment bolt out? Make sure no other retainer bolts holding it. If you can turn it back and forth as it should with adjuster bolt loose or off, just keep pulling while twisting- the O-ring seal on the distributor may be sticky with age.

Need to remove back seat on 95 chrysler lebaren convertible. the bottom part lifts up and pulls out. the back of it must be secured, because it won't budge.

Normally there are two bolts that hold brackets to the floor on the bottom of the cushion. One on each side. You remove the bolts and lift up on the cushion.

About alternator replacement for 2001 vw beetle gls...I've removed the upper and lower bolts... What am I missing? Alternator still won't budge. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

all the bolts removed then all thats holding it is the adjustable tube in on the lower fitting ,put a bar in and try moving it then it will move as on the lower fitting with the long bolt is a tube in the alternator housing bracket and this is pulled or pushed out to make contact with the support bracket .Check you havent got three bolts holding it as some vehicles have two bolts on the bottom bracket or one long one

I cant get the alternator off ofa 2004 silverado. I took the two bolts out just below it but its still on tight and not budging

Are there any other connections on it to hold it in place? If you are sure there aren't anymore bolts holding it in place you can use a small pry bar and move it out of there, they are in pretty tight and it will go back in tight too. Sometimes they have a rod bolted to the back side to stabilize it. I assuming you have the belt off already.

What is the trick to removing the harmonic balancer on a stratus

Theres no trick. It has to be cocked or something from all the pulling. Try tapping it back on, use spraylube on the crank and try again. Good luck.

Wheel removal

loosen the lug nuts and drive it in a circle slowly until the wheel loosens (one at a time). only loosen the nuts about 2 turns-no more. i had to do this at the dealer for years. put that axle nut back on before driving the truck.
good luck
