Question about GMC Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I need to replace the lower motor mount on my 92 gmc 4.3l truck, but none of the ones I've seen online or in 4 different auto parts stores are even close to what is on my truck.

Mine has a steel plate with 4 bolts to the frame and it bends down past the crossmember with 1 more bolt to frame.napa, kragen;and pep boys had nothing that looks like mine, none have 4 bolts, and the ones that drop past crossmember are 2 bolt but are nothing similar. They looked at all trucks 5 years before and after 92....nothing.

It seems as though you are describing the radiator support bracket (metal pieces on each side that stabilize the radiator as well as the fan shroud) and the radiator mounting bolts

What size of screw driver takes out the screw on a 2001 gmc jimmy steering panel? I was told it uses an inverted torque screw?? I need to replace the ignition lock

Are you talking about a security bit? On different makes and models, lock cylinder, I've seen the screw that has a raised point in the center, you use a security bit, the auto stores sells them, different sizes. I've had the auto stores let me try different bit sizes, right off the shelf, till I found the right size.
I can't see anything from here, don't know if that is the tool you need?

What noise? And year and make of car?
A clicking noise on turns is a worn CV joint on the axle shafts. A grinding noise at one of the wheels could be a wheel bearing. Worn brake pads may cause squealing, screeching other high pitched noise.

Im buying this truck for $500. the only thing i hear wrong with it is the motor shakes bad almost like the bolts mounting to the tranny r bad. can those bolts be replaced and the motor and tranny stay...

i would check the motor mounts to make sure the bolts are tight, then i would check the rear transmission mount bolts, also to make sure they are tight. yes , if the bolts mounted to the tranny need to be replaced, you can normally get them from a auto part store.

I NEED TO REPLACE THE BOTTOM MOTOR MOUNTS ON MY 1991 CHEVY LUMINA. THERE SO MANY DIFFERENT PRICES! THE AUTO STORE S SAY $35.00 . . .THE DEALER SAYS $125.00!!

never ever buy from a dealer unless you want to pay top dollar for the parts. i would suggest buying online like from rock auto. They normally have the best prices.

Mount for a 91 saturn sl2 (dohc)

The real problem you have is that Saturn changed the motor mounts after the first year. So the 91 mounts are different than those for the 92-99 1.9L 4 cylinder which are all the same. You can wait around for them to appear on ebay, except for the front mount which has a small shock built into it which I have never seen for sale on ebay. I assume a dealer could get them for you at a ridiculous price, or check SaturnParts.net for a somewhat lower but still high price.

Note that most of the folks selling Saturn motor mounts just assume that 91-99 years are the same as the engine was the same but that is just not true. If you look on ebay you can find Saturn parts identifier sheets, S-series, for about a dollar plus 3 dollars shipping, buy one of those those and you will see the difference between the engine mounts and have the exact part numbers.

Engine mount

no its does not cost that much if you do it yourself and if there is a auto store near you check on the part all you would need jack stands and a good floor jack to support the motor while you are lowering it to get the old mount out and then put the new one in also here is a place that sells only GM parts its Schram auto & truck parts The # is 1-800-292-1032 if needed.
