You will have to research on the GM engine web page
4 bolt mains were only on certain engine capacities reserved for heavy truck applications
I found them mainly on the engines used in bedford trucks to 5 ton capacity
try google and type in -- 4 bolt mains in GM v8 engines --as a search starter and work from there

I have Chevy 400 engine with Numbers: T3402CTA and GM330817. What year was the engine made and what horsepower? Tx

The block casting is a 72-80 2 bolt main,,,used mortec.com ,,,,,,,,,to find out what it came out in you will have to look at the front of the engine left side,,where the head bolts down,,, should be a 1.5" flat spot with numbers stamped in it,,,that will tell you, what it came out in and hp,,if the the block has not been decked that is,then it will be blank ,,go to a gm website and look for vin suffix codes,,there should be link to decode the numbers stamped in the block

That is a casting number for a 351c block, casting date is October 22nd 1971. The same casting number was used for the 4 bolt and 2 bolt main blocks.

site i use for casting numbers is down at the moment
far as if a camaro motor would work in your truck yes small blocks between trucks and cars the same
there are 2- bolt main blocks
and there are 4-bolt main blocks
2 and 4 bolts are used in cars
and 2 and 4 bolts are used in trucks
main differance between truck motors and car motors are the add ons intake exhaust manifolds
heads the blocks them self are the same
trucks are usally geared lower but that in the tranny and rear end not in the motor
soon as my site comes back up i look up your number for u and give u link to site as well

I'm trying to find out the horse power of my chevy small block engine 1 GM 14010207

Look at the vin # from outside the car through the windshield on the bottom of the drivers side. The 8th digit in the vin # is the engine code. You should be able to look it up on the internet. I want to say 175hp but i'm not certain. It is usually a letter. For example a small block 350 for certain years is the letter M and I believe small block 305 is P.

My 1998 chev. K2500 has both 2 & 4 bolt main caps .

what do you mean it has both? either they are 4 ,or they are 2 ....if any of the main brg caps have 4 bolts holding them in, thats a 4 bolt main block. IF the rest of the truck is nice, then its worth it, if its ratty, then no. you may be better off buying a remanufactured engine from a good company that offers a good warranty. remember you will need to replace a lot af parts, water pump, spark plugs, get radiator cleaned, belt, tensioner, motor mounts. ....you want to replace everything you can while the engine is out. plan on $500.00 extra as a buffer.
