Why does check engine light blink when I accelerate?

The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is located in the instrument panel cluster. The MIL will display as either SERVICE ENGINE SOON or one of the following symbols when commanded ON:
Check engine ! The MIL indicates that an emissions related fault has occurred and vehicle service is required.
The following is a list of the modes of operation for the MIL:

The MIL illuminates when the ignition is turned ON, with the engine OFF. This is a bulb test to ensure the MIL is able to illuminate.

The MIL turns OFF after the engine is started if a diagnostic fault is not present.


?€¢
The MIL remains illuminated after the engine is started if the control module detects a fault. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored any time the control module illuminates the MIL due to an emissions related fault. The MIL turns OFF after three consecutive ignition cycles in which a Test Passed has been reported for the diagnostic test that originally caused the MIL to illuminate.

The MIL flashes if the control module detects a misfire condition which could damage the catalytic converter.

When the MIL is illuminated and the engine stalls, the MIL will remain illuminated as long as the ignition is ON.

When the MIL is not illuminated and the engine stalls, the MIL will not illuminate until the ignition is cycled OFF and then ON.

Where do I check the hydraulic fluid on a mahindra 3016 hst


I'm not terribly too sure about the Mahindra, but I have recently had to check my hydraulic fluid and I consulted with the manual. Do you have a manual for your vehicle? READING CODES USING MIL (CHECK ENGINE) LAMP

Be advised that the MIL or CHECK ENGINE light can only perform a limited number of functions and it is a good idea to have the system checked with a scan tool to double check the circuit function.

  1. Within a period of 5 seconds, cycle the ignition key ON - OFF - ON - OFF - ON .
  2. Count the number of times the MIL (check engine lamp) on the instrument panel flashes on and off.

The number of flashes represents the trouble code. There is a short pause between the flashes representing the 1st and 2nd digits of the code. Longer pauses are used to separate individual 2-digit trouble codes.
An example of a flashed DTC is as follows:


Lamp flashes 4 times, pauses, then flashes 6 more times. This denotes a DTC number 46. Lamp flashes 5 times, pauses, then flashes 5 more times. This indicates a DTC number 55. DTC 55 will always be the last code to be displayed.

I drive a 1991 galant with 4g63 engine and the check engine light is on after 5 minutes of starting the car, i already reset the computer bu taking off the negative pole of the battery. the car has no o2...


Your OBD 1 that means put two wire together and it will flash the code by counting the flashes of the ck engine light if your production date is 9/91 you have a recall on the 02 sensor it doesnt matter how long you owned it or if your not the original owner here is the recall number EMR 92 003 but here the deal its only for car in the states like california any other place your out of luck to access the code you will need a voltmeter there it will flash or a analog voltmeter there you will measure the sweep of the needle movement to get the code go under the dash and find the 12 pin connector on the driver side kick panel top right corner is pin 1 and lower left is ground or pin 12 or chasis ground watch the meter movement and count the flashes first flash is long second is short example for code 12 its one long flash is for number 1 two short flash is 2 for code 22 its two long flashes thats 2 and 2 short flash is 2 put it together its 22 there can be a combination of code there your care doesnt really have that much management just EGR, TPS, just the simple needs

A malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), commonly referred to as the "Check Engine Light" is an indicator of malfunction of the computerized engine management system. It is found on the instrument console of most automobiles. When illuminated, it is typically either an amber or red color. On vehicles equipped with OBD-II, the light has two stages: steady (indicating a minor fault such as a loose gas cap or failing oxygen sensor) and flashing (indicating a severe fault, that will eventually destroy the catalytic converter, such as a misfire). When the MIL is lit, the engine control unit stores a fault code related to the malfunction, which can be retrieved with a scan tool and used for further diagnosis. The malfunction indicator lamp is usually labeled with the text check engine, service engine soon, check engine soon, or a picture of an engine.
The MIL appeared in the early 80s along with computerized engine controls. Even the earliest systems, such as GM's CCC (Computer Command Carburetor) system had self diagnosis functionality. When the computer detected a fault, it illuminated the MIL. Up until OBDII, on most cars the MIL could output codes, when two pins on the ALDL are jumped, the light would flash the codes, for instance (blink) (pause) (blink) (blink) for code 12. Some manufacturers retained this feature even after OBDII, such as Honda.

Circle shaped light blinks shortly after start


look in owner manual to see what light is. may be brakes abs or check engine light. If CEL, you need computer test for fault codes or you will ruin $1000 converter.

Dash warning light not found in manual - hot to turn it off


The flashing key-inside-a-car means the anti-theft system is working properly. On page 84 of the 2009 Prius owners manual, the explanation indicates that a flashing key-inside-a-car is normal, and is desired. It should extinguish when the automobile is operating. It may be distracting, but it's a good thing!!
