It is located in the fuel tank. You have to drop the fuel tank to change it

If you are talking about a trouble code for the pressure sensor, the sensor may be telling the computer the fuel pressure is too high. The sensor is mounted in the fuel rail on the engine.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 mercury mountaineer


Hello, 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel filter is located in front and on top of fuel tank behind two shields. This is for 4.0L 2 wheel drive. When you look just behind the front passenger side tire you will see the first shield. Behind that is the second.

It is at the forwardmost part of the fuel tank hidden behind a shield that must be unbolted to get access to it.

The power distribution box is
located in the engine compartment.
The power distribution box contains
high-current fuses that protect your
vehicle’s main electrical systems
from overloads.
The starter relay is in position #56 of that box.
