Our lawn tractor was put away for the winter and the key has disappeared. Can we get a replacement?

Most lawn tractor keys are the same,as most lawn tractors are made by only a couple of manufacturers (MTD etc) with different names (decals) applied. Your dealer or any small engine dealer should have replacement keys available. He may sell you a new switch with keys which would be easy to install.

Do my 2007 for Explorer Limited has a timing belt or chain. If so when do it need to be changed.

It only need to be replaced on a belt drive when the edges are frayed or the belt is cracking. A chain drive will need replacing when it begins to stretch, has to much play by moving side to side. If you live in a state that requires a yearly inspection they would normally notify you if it needs replacing. You can Google the year make an model for vehicle specs as to which drive you have. Hope this helps you.

My craftsman riding lawn mower won't move

Trans is shot. They cost around $600 to 1000 new. You can probably find one used for a couple hundred dollars. There are no rebuild kits for them. (Assuming this is not a zero turn) zero turns you can easily double the price....for each of the two drive units

My Lawn Tractor just clicks once instead of starting battery is good but it just clicks once craftsman 38" 12hp ohv

Check for power at the starter from the solenoid when the key is in the start position.. if you have power there it is the starter .. if not you probably have a safety switch malfunction . You can bypass them for testing purposes.

How do I release the lock on my Craftsman belt sander to lighten the belt. It's an old Model # 315.1172

I checked for that model number and they listed that number, but with an extra 0 at the right end. I couldn't find a belt release lever illustrated anywhere like that on my old Craftsman belt sander. On mine, you just flipped the lever either forward or back to release and tighten the belt. (still works great) There is a spring that pushes the front roller assembly forward when the lever is operated.
