Do you know anything about automotive electronics ?
Stoplamps
The stoplamps are part of the rear lamp assembly. When the brake pedal is applied, the stoplamp switch supplies voltage to the generic electronic module (GEM) and the high mounted stoplamp. The GEM then supplies voltage to the rear lamps.

Turn Signal Lamps and Hazard Warning Lamps
The turn signal lamps and hazard warning lamps system consists of:

  • Hazard switch
  • Multifunction switch
  • GEM
  • Turn signal lamps
When the multifunction switch is placed in the LH or RH turn positions, a voltage signal from the GEM is routed to ground. When the GEM detects the multifunction switch in the LH or RH turn position, the GEM supplies voltage to the appropriate turn lamps in a flashing manner. When operating correctly, the turn lamps flash approximately 80 times per minute.
When the hazard warning switch (located in the upper part of the center console) is switched on, a voltage signal from the GEM is routed to ground. When the GEM detects that the hazard switch is switched on, the GEM supplies voltage to all the turn signal lamps in a flashing manner. When operating correctly, the hazard lamps flash approximately 80 times per minute.

Do you know how to test electrical circuits with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter , how to read an use a wiring diagram to pin point locations in a electrical circuit for testing B+ voltage an ground ?

2005 ford focus zx4. No brake lights, turn signals or hazards. Fuse doesn't look like it's blown. HELP

Hi Sue:
I'd suggest using a voltmeter and start checking at the supply side of the fuse. AS these are all on the same circuit there's a failure at ome point so working "downstream" until you don't have power will ultimately locate the problem component.
Also, was anything done that might have caused the problem?
Re-phrased, At some point, they worked properly. What happened right before they stopped working?
It might lead you to the source of the problem.

Low headlights but highbeams work?

First check fuses under the hood. If good, replace the turn signal switch. All the exterior lights run threw it except the center high mount brake light.

1988 chevy 1500 everythingworks exept brake light turn signal ok tailghts ok no brake lights

Since the turns work in the back, that means the brake bulbs are good. Brake lights and turn signal lights share the same filament in the bulb.
There is a fuse for the brake lights. Then, there is a brake light switch on the brake pedal. You need a voltmeter or test light, after checking that fuse is good. Need to check if fuse has power on it. This is one of those fuses that are hot at all times-as long as battery is connected, voltage should be going through the fuse and up to the brake light switch. Check for power both places. The switch on the pedal is a simple on-off switch. When brake is depressed, the spring loaded switch is turned on-passing power on towards the brake lights.
But then the brake wire goes into the turn signal switch before going on to the brake bulbs...however, since your turns work good, I doubt if there is a problem in the turn switch. First check if the brake light switch is sending power on when switch is on.
Let me know what you find. Good luck.

Brake lights not working but centre mount is!!

the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch. the power for the left and right brake lights goes through the turn signal switch, but power for the center mount comes straight from the brake light switch. this allows the brake light to be turned of so the turn signal can operate as they use the same filimant in the bulb.
