Not really a job for a non-mechanic. Column covers off, switches out of the way, wiring disconnected, column dropped down under the dash, bolts chiseled out, big job.

No crank 99 grand prix half the dash goes out somtimes

It could be the key switch, or the neutral safety switch.
You would need to know if you have power on the small wire on the solenoid that comes from the key switch when the switch is in the start position. The neutral safety switch is in the circuit between the key and the starter.

My key keeps getting stuck in the ignition of my 1999 grand prix

If you have a duplicate made, it could be more hooked then it should be; but then any locksmith should be able to deburr it or compare it with the original.
If it is the original that is getting stuck, try moving the steering wheel as you turn the key, because the steering lock may be binding. Remember the key has to be exactly in the right position in order to be able to remove it.

Keys stick in the ignition

There are a few problems why this can happen. Most commonly there is a wire down by the bottom of the shifter that is broken. In the meantime, you can stick a small screwdriver through the hole under the steering column (you'll have to pull off the cover). This will push in the solenoid and allow you to remove the key. Your mechanic can diagnose the root problem.

Time to buy a new ignition my friend. the one you have can be fixed but it would be much easier to buy a new one. they arn't that hard to replace either. most cars its just a pop out disconnect pop in. its that easy. also for future problems might they occur go to you local autozone or advanced auto and purchase a haynes repair manual for your car. it is invaluable
