Make sure you have not forgotten to connect any hoses or wiring connectors to sensors.
check around throttle body Air intake
if you disconnected battery it may take a driving cycle for engine ECU to relearn values
you might have to hold revs up a little and should turn A/C on and off as well as headlights and put into drive and nuetral while pausing for a couple seconds at each step
if check engine light is on you have upset something, can you find out what code is stored if so?
did you undo any diesel high pressure hoses some of these are use once only hoses that can then not seal properly (leak and air ingress)

Fuel pressure regulator symtoms:
One or more of the spark plugs may have become fouled out and blackened. When you are idling the engine it is not running smoothly and it is sputtering and spitting like it is going to die. If you haven't changed your fuel filter in a while, you should do that first and see if it helps. If not, then check the fuel pressure regulator.Trouble starting the car. It will turn over but takes a few extra tries before it actually starts.Tail pipe may have black smoke coming out of it.Check the oil dipstick and see if you smell fuel on it.Gasoline may be dripping out of the tailpipe. The engine stalls when you press down on the gas pedal. These are a few symtoms, But it can actually be something else! God-Bless! You said you changed all sensors so this may help you. and make sure the alternator and battery are ok! If battery is weak it may not have the charge to keep it running on short trips, or the alternator is not charging the battery right. vehicle running it should read at least 13.6 to 14.2 or more if alt, is good. With car off, if less than 11.6 volts replace battery.

Battery Light still on

The new alternator is probably ok.
I would say you burned a fuseable link in the wiring harness.
The alternator has a fuse wire between it and the battery to protect it from overload.
Have someone check the wires coming out of the back of the alternator. The big wire should have battery voltage, the small wires energize the alternator when you start the engine.

By changing gears I've got smoke coming from my exchaust: what can I do to prevent it. What Oil is best for my TDI. Can I use fuel injector oil with the diesel.

Identifing the smoke color tells you where it is coming from. Black smoke comes from fuel, so it is running rich or not fully igniting the mixture. White smoke comes from oil and often happens under very heavy engine load. On acceleration this could be the piston rings allowing blow-by, on deceleration this could be the valve seals leaking. Blueish smoke is often coolant, indicating a head gasket leak.

You didn't state iof this happens during a moving gear change, or if it has happened since you physically changed some of the gears in the car. On a TDi, I would follow the factory recommendations for all engine lubricants and additives.

03 jetta shut off while driving.

Check the load reduction relay. I had this happen twice and repaired twice on my TDI mk IV. It throws no codes and almost has to be witnessed by a mechanic to be believed.

87 toyota pickup engine wont idle well and exhaust smells gassy

Well if you start your car and its dieing at a stop sign. That usually means you have a bad alternator. Your alternator is wat charges the battery when the car is on, and the more you eccelerate the car, the faster the belt spends on the alternator and the more juice is pumped to the battery. So I would have your alternator checked out. Im pretty sure thats why your stopping at stop signs. As far as the smoke and the smells gassy. You have t remember its an older carborated truck, so its going to smoke out of the exaust and its going to run a little rich, which is why your smelling gas. Now you much determine if its smoking to much and your smelling to much gas. Try having a tune up done on the truck. Spark plugs, oil change, air filter change and if your still having those issues take it to a muffler shop and have them check the catalic converter

991 Isuzu 2.6l petrol runninf problem!

I realise you have probably solved this problem by now so sorry for the late news mate . Had a similar prob and it turned out to be an alternator malfunction . I replace the brushes and off she went . These things send voltage from the alt . to a fuel pump relay or whatever so the pump wont run if the eng isn't (or the alt isn't outputting any voltage.) . Hope you already had it sorted . But I hope this helps if not . Cheers Simon .

When i start my car you smell gas ,and it smoke.

HTML clipboard If you can smell gas ONLY when the engine is running, then the gas didn't get burned completely. It could be the combination of the computer, oxygen sensors, and/or catalytic converter is going bad. If you could smell gas when it's parked, you might want to take it to a mechanic to have your gas line checked for leaks and for pressure test. Here's a website that talk a little about gas smell www.mycarsmellsbad.com good luck.
