Question about 2004 Volkswagen Golf
Inside lever is loose but cable still attatched. grill lever will not allow me to open the bonnet. help what do i do?
The bonnet is held down with a spring thats constantly under tension. to get the bonnet open you have to remove one side of the tension where the spring connects to the slam panel. put your hand in the grille and feel for where the spring goes into the slam panel, and use something like a tyre lever put through the grille hole to pop the spring away from the slam panel, thus releasing the tension. you should be able to just pull the bonnet up. my corsa has just done the same thing and this is the only way i could get into it.

It sound like it i out of adjustment. I had this same thing occur n my car. Ask an assistant to pull the release lever inside the car all the way, then try to open the bonnet while they are pulling on the lever.
