i will try to help. 171/174 indicates lean condition in engine. the mass air flow sensor is located in the rubber tube going to throttlebody. you can try to clean it. using mild carb cleaner safe for sensors, remove sensor from tube. spray clean the tiny wires located in the cylinder. do not touch them, they are very delicate. these engines are also notorious for leaking intake gaskets and faulty pcv valves. these will all set these 2 codes. feel free with anymore questions.

the speed sensor is located generally on the tailshaft housing or in other words where the driveshaft slides into transmission has a small black sensor with a couple of wires going to it. those trucks have a bad problem with the cluster going out on them though. more than likely that is going to be your problem. you have to take cluster to dealership (new one) and they have to burn the current mileage into it.

It is underneath the van on the driver's side near the rear edge of the driver's door. Follow the fuel line coming out of the gas tank to it. It's about the size of a coke can, If you have not picked up the fuel filter yet, Auto Zone will have it and can give you the step by step instruction to get the job done and can lone you the quick release wrench for the fuel line to the fuel filter. Good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help.

usually they are at the back of the tranny with a 2 wire plugin and one bolt holding it in...if not it may be part of your rear ABS sensor in your rear end...do you have any codes about ABS

Not sure what you are asking for but here is some info about the Speedometer and Speed Control.
Speedometer Gauge The instrument cluster receives the vehicle speed signal from the ABS module over the SCP communication network and commands the speedometer with an appropriate pointer placement based upon the data received.
The cruise control also gets the signal from the same source. The transaxle has an input speed sensor and an output speed sensor. They are primarily for transmission shifting. Hope this helps. Please don't leave me a bad thumbs up, I am trying to help with the info you have provided. ... Cobra.. :-)
