SOURCE: VW Beetle Airbag Light

The problem is the seatbelt latch. The wiring right at the latch and the strap are broken. Seems there is not enough slack in these wires to allow much stretch. You may be able to repair it if you can splice these wires back together if not about 160 to 170 for a new one. you can have it put on a machine and if the code leads back to the latch then you know this is the problem.

SOURCE: my car key is stuck in the driver's side door (VW new Beetle).

I assume you have tried juggling and turn ing the key and pulling all at once>>> Type in the security code for the auto locks on the driver door panel it should release the security device in the lock that holds on to fradulent keys (some models have this some dont) if this doesnt work , try unlocing and locking the door using the controls in the car and pulling on the key to try and remove, if the key wont trun any directions remove door panel locate the locking mechinism and use a flat head screw drivce to turn the lil dial o nthe back side to and try to remove the key.. If none of these work, pull really hard straight back dont bend key on lock as it will break off!! becarefull and goold luck.....
hope this will fix'ya

2006 Passat 3.6 Relay J271 ECU Location Look Everywhere But Cant Seem To Locate

if there is no legend on the relay cluster cover makes it very hard to locate

J271 varies from model to model, but once you have the relay out, check one of its sides for the diagram of the pin outs. The solenoid 12V supply will always be marked as 85, the negative always as 86, the normally open (N/O) contact as 87, the normally closed (N/C) as 87a and the pin marked 30 is always the switching voltage supply. Notice that terminals of 87 and 30 are always larger than the other terminals. Connect the relay solenoid to a battery with clip leads and measure the voltage at 87 and 87a, and that it changes over when you hear the relay click. Alternatively do a continuity test between pin 30 and 87, then again between 30 and 87a. Then connect power to the solenoid and the continuity measurement should switch over to the other pin. Unlike the image above, there may be even be more than 1 double pole double throw switch contacts on the relay depending on the model of your car. The Audi J271 is different to some VW's and has more terminals.

Hi i keep getting these error codes on my car , im down to half power i have been to 3 garages b3882, b3881, b2535, b3880, b3720, b0283, b3596

Hi John.
How do you get the codes? If are through the a scanner you will get also the faults description. According to my Auto data notes for your vehicle are as follow : B3882 = TAIL LIGHT RIGHT MALFUNCTION,
B3881 = TAIL LIGHT CIRCUIT - LOW VOLTAGE, B3880 = REVERSE LIGHT CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION, B2535 = REAR RIGHT TURN LAMP CIRCUIT FAILURE,B3720 = REAR WIPER RELAY DRIVE CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION,B0283 = REAR WINDOW HEATING OPEN CIRCUIT-SIGNAL TOO LOW,B3596 = HAZARD SWITCH MALFUNCTION.

My personal advise check your alternator and then the CIM ( ECU)
Good Luck. Hope I help at all.

What is code p1517 on my 2008 tdi passat

Hi there,

Code P1517 is specific to VW (P0 = generic code), so this code must be retrieved specifically from VW's DTC list.

This code relates to a malfunction in your Engine (MAIN) Control Relay circuit

Please note that I said "Circuit". This doesn't neccessarily mean the Control Relay itself is faulty (although this component will also need to be tested), but means you may need to test every component related to this circuit, and also other related circuts.

Cheers,

Got a letter in the mail in Nov telling me that my valve body warranty had been extended for 2 years-but it actually expired in Apr of 2010. VW was going to pay for any repairs that had previously been...

I'm sure that they ment the warrenty will be extended 2 years beyond April 2010. Check back with another dealer or call the number on the letter you received [ or call VW's 800 # ] to find out.

There is an electrical malfunction in the EV5 solenoid electrical circuit. You must go to Advance Auto or Autozone and borrow their scan tool and get the code.
