Dirty air filter....Gunk in carbs..course spark plugs and wires. I would take the air duct loose from carb and spray bottle throttle spay directly in carb while accelerating gas throttle with hand.As the car tries to die down let go of the spray. Repeat 3 or 4 times. It will run alot better. Warning.....dont buy carburetor spray because it eats up your seals in carb......Remember buy bottle throttle spray only.

93 crown vic steering gear leaking

The bubbling is just the air being removed by fluid, no problem. the foaming is just the pump action, no problem. As for the leakage, remove the pitman arm and replace the seal on shaft the pitman arm is bolted to. If you still have leakage, replace the seal in the top of the box where the column bolts to the box for it's just running down the box and looking like the leak is from the bottom seal.

VEC reads coolant temp sensor bad. I replaced the one on the top of the engine and in the overflow bottle and it is still reading the same thing. I even disconnected the battery for a while hoping it would...

You may want to check the circuit board in the vic itself . Remove the glove box and the facia around it. The vic is located behind the ashtray area. Remove the vic(torx)screws, and unplug it. Pull the cover off. Use a magnifying glass to look closely at the soldered wires to the board. You may just find a cracked solder job that is very common on this year Jeep.

I guess i have a broken head gasket, do you recomend a product called Steel Seal?

http://www.diyforums.net/anyone-tried-steel-seal-for-blown-head-gaskets-285608.html

you can try it, but read this stuff first. I'd recommend replacing it, but if you haven't the time or money, . . .it sounds like that a lot of people have had success with it. But you can't go wrong with a new gasket Fel-Pro permatorque gaskets are what I use.

What should be the average cost for replacing valve stem seals on a 1999 crown vic P71

depends alot on who does it , but figure about 3hrs and the cost of the seals and gaskets. Probably $225 .
If you have a compressor you can buy the tools and do them yourselfand save maybe $175.00. They are no big deal to do. I'll coach you. _Ned_

Transmission leaking

I have a 1988 Ford Crown Vic....on mine, there is a small leak at the back end of the transmission, where the drive shaft connects....

Is this where your fluid is leaking from?

My cousin is a ford mechanic...he told me that he sees that a lot on the vics of this age.....not because a seal is bad, but because of how the tranny is made....

but im not sure...

hope this helps somehow...
