My silverado king cab has service airbag light on . Dealer said code was seatbelt tensioner problem. how do i get to ti and what to look for

depending on which one it is, pass or driver seat, its within the female reciever of seatbelt. easier to remove seat and inspect wiring to pretentioner. check for open by unplugging it and check across connector w olhm meter. if no reading, its open and needs replacd. unhook your battery before attempting this.

I have a 2005 Chevy 1500 4wd four door silverado and the airbag light came on and it has never been in an accident what could it be

Any component of the airbag system can have a miscommunication or bad connection with the wiring that leads to the module. The module is probably fine if it's detecting a problem and alerting the driver through the airbag light.

If the car hasn't deployed the air bag and it's never been in an accident, corrosion on the connections in the bumper area could have occurred, or a break in the wiring somewhere has caused this error to come to the driver's attention.

Faulty passenger side air bag sensor module. Is this a recall issue and if the vehicle has under 60,000 miles whose responcible for this repair

If it has over 36K, you are responsible for it, and I don't believe it is a recall issue. You can check with your local Chevy dealer to know for sure.

The airbag light came on and stayed on for no reason.

I have the same issue (which comes and goes often).
It is caused by a loose wire connection, used for the drivers side airbag located in the seat.. The connector for mine is located under the front drivers seat. There are a couple of connectors that are connected to a bar under the front of the seat. I don't recall which one is used for the Airbag sensor.
