It appears you may have tried using the wrong key to start the car and the antitheft system engaged to protect the car from being stolen or driven insert the correct key and the antitheft system will turn off and allow you to start your car

99 explorer alarm disables. Motor dies

Anti-theft system can keep vehicle from starting , Alarm is for vehicle content theft , open door without key alarm sounds (horns) ! PATS - passive anti theft system PATS enables and disables the engine from starting ,it will not cause the engine to die ! You have some other kind of problem ! If the vehicle engine doesn't turn over an red light on top of dash flashes fast ,then you have anti-theft system problem !
PATS differs from the perimeter anti-theft system in that PATS enables and disables the engine from starting. If equipped, the perimeter anti-theft system protects the perimeter of the vehicle (doors, hood and trunk) and sounds an alarm.

Ran out of gas. filled, now it won't start.

Sounds like you activated the anti-theft alarm somehow.
I would check the owners manual on how to disarm it.

89 firebird anti theft code won't let car start

If code 53 involves the PASS system for your car, the chip in the key has failed, or the sensor in the lock cylinder, or the control module.
The anti-theft system disables the starter and the fuel injectors. You could bypass those circuits to get the car started.

When you put the key in and you turn it over all the power comes on but won't turn over, is that a starter problem or an alternator problem?

If you have power it would not be an alternator problem unless its not charging the battery and the battery is dead or too weak to turn the starter.
You may have a VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) Pass KeyII at fault. Is there a Security light on in the dash?
You may want to start by testing the small wire (S Terminal) at the starter. Hook a test light to it and turn the key to start. If the light comes on then its a bad starter/solenoid. No light then its the ignition switch, any anti theft device (if you have an alarm that disables or is in any way connected to the starting system i.e. remote start, that could very well be the problem) or wiring.

Turn key over but it won't turn over

Many times in GM's vehicles, the anti theft system fails and disables the starter. Look for a light that says "security" on the dash. If you see this light. This is the problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

2007 malibu maxx will not start after I pulled a jammed cd out of the player. the engine would not turn over and the anti theft light began flashing and cd player clicking. I disconnected and reconnected...

Did you Take the radio out of the car. Sounds like you pulled the theft wire apart that goes to the
ignition switch. If this happens the starter and the fuel are disabled preventing the car from starting.
If everything looks ok I suggest calling a radio tech guy or pull the radio out to take in for repair.
I know these radio's are sensitve and have theft lock in them also.

Service anti theft system light is on, car won't start

Try turning the key to the on position with the dash lights on. Let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes with the drivers door open. That should reset the anti-theft device.

Anti theft system alert appears on dash and i cannot get it to go off

Turn key to ON position (do not start) Leave in ON position for EXACTLY 10 FULL MINUTES.
As SOON as the light shuts off, then IMMEDIATELY start the car and you will be good to go. Common GM problem due to their passlock 2 systems.
