check the light sensor on top off dash near windshield above glove box for obstruction i have a 2000 Camry with lights on at dusk and dark feature, the lights come on at dusk and you cant shut off the lights unless the engine is off,if that is what you are experincing that is normal if that is not a feature on that car than i need more info hope thatshelpfull
have you got the switch set accurately ? to test the wiring from switch to lights bridge the contacts in the connector that plugs into the switch , a piece of auto wire stripped at both ends will do , if the lights come on then the switch is the issue , just needs setting properly, screw it out a little at a time as the pedal needs to release the switch for the lights to come on
Yes sounds like the sensor.
Make sure you install the correct bulb type (voltage and wattage) to replace the old one.
Also check all your wiring and plugs to make sure you have good reliable electrical connections, they need to be tight, free from obvious dirt and corrosion.
If you have a multimeter do a Continuity test on the wiring Note: When testing the circuit continuity, be sure that the power of the circuit has been shut down and all capacitors have been discharged fully. (this is to protect your device and in high voltages to protectyou)
This should help you identify if you have a wiring issue.
This is the wiper motor failing...But to be safe unplug wiper motor, turn on wiper switch, connect test light to negative side of battery or good solid metal ground and stick probe in connector.if it is not working and the test light is not on then the wiper switch has failed.....and if the test light comes on at connector the wiper motor has failed..Since it works intermittently have an assistant to work the wiper switch and test a number of times to be sure. You can buy a cheap test light that will be good enough to check this at any auto parts store...BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR TEST MAKE SURE TEST LIGHT
HAS GOOD GROUND BY CLAMPING TO NEGATIVE SIDE OF BATTERY AND TOUCH PROBE TO POSITIVE SIDE OF BATTERY TO ENSURE GOOD CONNECTION...LIGHT WILL COME ON.
the first thing to check is the headlight switch, they will go bad and keep lights on,also i dont know how long youve own this truck but theres and auto setting on switch and the lights come on even with the swith off at dusk, and also there are driving lights that are on all the time,if you turn key off and they stay on for more than 2 mins, then check the switch,if you mean there on every time you start it ,even during the day, then the sensor on the dash may be bad or you may have something cover it and it thinks its dark out and turning on the lights.
If nothing is broken, check to see your dash light dimmer isn't turned all the way down. If you have automatic lights that turn on at dusk and you place something over the light sensor (usually on the dash board), the headlights will come on during the day and set the dash lights to the dimmer switch setting.
take a test light go to the wiper motor unplug it and test the pig tail. if the light comes on on all settings hi, low etc. then the motor is bad. if the light doesnt come on any of the settings except hi then the switch is bad.
