Remove the distributor cap, remove the rotor, turn the ignition on, turn the motor until the points (contact breaker) starts to open, you should see a spark, if not, turn off the ignition, check to see if the contact surfaces are flat and not pitted. gap should be 0.35mm (15 thou) adjust if neccessary, clean the contact surfaces with some fine sandpaper. Turn the motor until the points are closed and turn a little more. Turn the igition on. With a small screwdriver, open the pionts without the screwdriver touching anything else. you should see a spark. Replace the rotor & cap. The engine should start provided fuel is getting to the carburettor and the coil is ok. Hope this helps, please comment and avise.
