If you checked all of the fuses and they are not blown check to see if anything else works in socket ie: cell phone charger. ;lf it charges then its your lighter. also check to see if anything is in the socket

I have a 1998 Plymouth Voyager I get power to the cigarette lighter fuse underneath the hood but not to the cigarette lighter what could be the problem

The "fuse" in the junction block is 9A PTC 7 (think breaker). If the PTC is OK, power is applied to the CIGAR/ACCESSORY RELAY in the power distribution center. If the relay is not working as it should, no power will get to the cigarette lighter.

My car cigarette lighter is not working. I have a 98 plymouth breeze and I've tried checking the fuses and its still not working. My radio and everything else works just fine do i need to replace the...

If all the fuses have been checked and are working as you say, try doing a voltage check on the cigarette lighter receptacle itself. If you set your DVOM (Digital Volt/Ohm) meter to DC volts, you should be able to measure 12 volts (+- 2) at the receptacle by placing the red lead to the positive end of the receptacle, which is the little button on the very back of the barrel, and the negative end, which is the outer chrome housing. (Of course, some vehicles require the ignition key to be placed to Acc or Run, but I'm sure you already know how your car is configured.)

If there is no voltage there, the fault may be in the wiring itself, behind the cigarette lighter. Get behind it to make sure that the positive lead hasn't been pulled out or is corroded for some reason.

If all is well with the receptacle and you want to be able to actually USE the cigarette lighter in it, you may want to consider purchasing a replacement lighter. You can find a lot of those in the "Help" line of parts at your local auto parts store.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions. :)

1999 porshce 911 cigarette lighter

If the fuse is fine, check the hot wire leading to the lighter assembly to make sure you're getting power. If no, you've got a short in the wire from your fuse panel to lighter. If you are getting power to the lighter, take your test light and test the contacts on the inside of the lighter. If no power there, then replace lighter assembly. If you are getting power inside your lighter, it works fine, but the accessory you are plugging into it may be defective.

Power Outlets (cigarette lighter) will not work front or back

It sounds like the receptical has shorted out. Remove the receptical and make sure the ground wire (black wire) is in tact, and make sure the wire to the center of the receptical (power wire) is securely attached. If both are secure, the receptical is faulty and needs to be replaced.
