What is the security code?

Your SECURITY light lit on the instrument cluster ? or you disconnected the battery an now the radio is locked ?
The theft deterrent system on this vehicle is comprised of the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system. VTD prevents drive away theft by preventing the vehicle from starting.
SECURITY Indicator The SECURITY indicator on the instrument cluster is controlled by the VTD system. The SECURITY indicator is located inside the instrument cluster. The SECURITY indicator is controlled by the body control module through the class 2 data line. The VTD system contained in the BCM commands the instrument cluster to control the SECURITY indicator only when the ignition switch is ON. The VTD system uses the indicator as a malfunction indicator.
Theft Deterrent
The "Theftlock" theft deterrent system is a feature on all base and uplevel radios. There is no need to program a security code into the radio as in past model years. The theft deterrent system now utilizes class 2 serial data to determine if the radio is in the appropriate vehicle. Each time the radio receives the "run" power mode message, it compares the VIN information it has stored to the VIN information received from a module on the class 2 serial data circuit responsible for transmitting that information. If a mis-match occurs, the radio display will indicate to the user the radio is locked. Once this takes place, a DTC will set, the radio will not respond to any button presses and become inoperative. The two scenarios able to cause this condition are:
?€¢
A radio is installed from another vehicle.

?€¢
A module which communicates on the class 2 serial data circuit which supplies VIN information to the radio is replaced and not properly setup with the correct VIN information for that vehicle.

The only way to unlock the radio is by using a scan tool. Always refer to the table in this section to diagnose the "Theftlock" DTC for further information.
So what problem are you having ?

The digital radio receiver utilizes class 2 serial data to determine if it is in the appropriate vehicle. Each time the digital radio receiver receives the "run" power mode message, it compares the VIN information received from the body control module (BCM) on the class 2 serial data circuit. If a mis-match occurs, the radio display will indicate to the user the digital radio receiver is locked. The digital radio receiver cannot be unlocked, it must be replaced. I own a 2002 Chevy Impala 3800. I replaced my factory radio, but when I finished installing the new radio my car now has a no crank, no start issue. What do I need to do with the immobilizer?

You can not just replace the radio in this vehicle with another type with out a interface module or something , I forget ! If you go to a stereo place ,where they install radios they will sell you what you need ! The factory radio is hooked to the Class 2 data bus an if other modules on the vehicle don't hear from it , it won't work !

Secuity Code for Holden Captiva

If bought new and original owner, ring the dealer, they may have it on record, otherwise holden will supply at a price. Google it, some holden follower sites will offer to get it for you with Vin. number. Check if it's been written in handbook? Try 2562, when Vin: KL?CD26CJBB?43??? its 4362, see the code connection. Last four digits on some other makes.

I need a unlock code for a 2005 gmc sierra! also i need to know how to type the code in to unlock it!!

Hello, if you are refering to the radio, there is no unlock code. the radio has to be programmed with the vin number of the vehicle that it is installed in. this requires some special tools, normally found at your dealer.

How do you unlock a 2003 Hummer RDS radio reading LOC

About the theftlock RDS radio system.
* The theft deterrent system now utilizes class 2 serial data to determine if the radio is in the authorized vehicle.
* Each time the radio receives accessory power from the ignition, it compares the VIN information it has stored to the VIN information received from a module on the class 2 serial data circuit responsible for transmitting that information.
* If a match does not occur, the radio display will indicate "locked".
* Once this occurs the radio will not respond to operations and become inoperative.

The following conditions will enable radio lock:
* A radio is installed from another vehicle.
* A module which communicates on the class 2 serial data circuit which supplies VIN information to the radio is replaced and not properly setup with the correct VIN information for that vehicle.

To unlock radio you will need access to a GM scan tool. Hope helps (remember to rate this).
