2001 tracker overheating

Hey Bob, Is the radiator/overflow box full? Sounds like the thermostat is frozen shut.. not letting coolant circulate .. the thermostat is usually located where the top radiator hose connects to the block..there will be a "neck' or housing for the thermostat.. (NOTE which way it comes out!!!) .. you need a new one and a new gasket.. while you are doing this..
remove the hoses from the radiator..>> check your hoses for wear..they wear out from the inside..look and feel for "bubbled areas" or soft areas or deterioration evidence..<<<...check your serpentine belt for wear while you are under there...now...(with the water hose)... flush the radiator... flush the block ... reinstall the hoses and thermostat,(watch orientation) , fill it with antifreeze..it will take a few minutes of running to get the air out of the system....before you let it get hot..put the radiator cap back on..let it run... cut it off...let it COOL completely.... Check and top-off the radiator BEFORE the next time you crank it..

Probably the pipes are rottening all at the same time, have a complete replacement of all bad ones, also check the fuel pump.

Tip

Basic checks:- if your vehicle is overheating.

The below checks are generally intended to apply to any make of motor vehicle, (even though, to post this tip I had to select a particular make & model).

Overheating may be caused by many things.
Ensure engine tune or other mechanical disfunction is not contributing to the overheat problem.
Ensure there are no vacuum leaks on the engine air induction system.
If gas bubbles are apparent in the coolant reservoir when the engine is running the motor it may have a blown headgasket - (if confirmation is required, go to a radiator shop and request a "combustion gas detector" test).

If no obvious mechanical problems exist I suggest you carry out the following checks:-
1) Check coolant system is not leaking fluid due cracked/perished hose or hose fitting, leaking water pump etc,
2) Check engine cooling fan/s are operating as required when engine temp rises above cut-in threshold - check fan control relay is ok,
3) Check for collapsing radiator hose on suction side of water-pump when motor revs raised above idle.
4) Check coolant reservoir pressure cap is serviceable,
5) Check coolant system is properly filled - carry out any bleed off procedure specified to clear any air locks- (ensure heater core coolant flow is turned on).
6) Check condition of radiator core:-
i) for blockage of air flow to (bugs/grass etc),
ii) for core internal blockage to coolant flow.
7) Check or replace the thermostat.

Swollen left side of face hives on face, neck and chest and itching had now for 5 days swelling gone down but hives and itching still here

You have an allergic reaction to something, maybe seafood you ate?
As long as the area of your lips, tongue, and neck is not swollen you are not in danger from this now.

See a pharmacist and ask for a strong anti-histamine. There are types which do not cause drowsiness, but heed any warnings about not driving or operating machinery.

If there is no prompt improvement see a doctor as there may be some other cause at work.

It would be useful to have a doctor investigate this with a test kit to find out the cause, as in future you should be careful of anything which causes swelling on the face and neck like that.

If you ever do get allergic swelling in that area again, especially the lips and mouth, go to emergency immediately.

Just replaced 2 fuel pumps but the gas tank will not fill when pumping gas - the pump cut off

When you're getting gas at the gas pump if it is shutting off due to back pressure it has nothing to do with your fuel pump. There is a small breather tube that runs from your tank to the filler neck this can sometimes clogged up or fail when this happens if the house collapses the air can not circulate back through the tank and causes this problem

Front seat back pain

Try using a slim cushion to place behind your back when driving. If you have lower vertebra issues such as I do, then you might find this helps. Also the driving position is important.
You should sit with your arms and hands at the 10:10 position, roughly inline with your pecks and with your elbows slightly bent.
Your neck should be relatively straight and you should try to avoid slouching or leaning too much on one side.

My engine will cut off while slowing down or at stationary but the computer diagnosed nothing please advise my email stwhang@singnet.com.sg

Possible air leak - carry out a leak test with test spray whilst engine is running - the spray being drawn into the engine by the leak will affect the sound/speed of the engine and show you where the leak is. Most likely areas are around the air hoses and the inlet manifold especially to the back of the engine where there is most heat and oil deposits.
Hope this helps - good luck.

When I cut my truck off I hear what sounds like a fan ticking in the air cond. area

Debris in the heater fan most likely .. you can drop it out and clean the **** out of it.. I have heard some doing this as well when the bearings are going in the fan motor.

Hot engine air enters through opening where AC line goes into car

there is usually a shroud around the ac unit itself however they do break from heat etc. but if you feel confident sure with the use of a brush or putty knife cover the areas with even strokes being neat about it apply some-type of heat resistant caulking or other material to it
