A nice guy came over and tried to jump it, but that didn't seem to affect it at all either.

If... your battery is good, and you get a "click" your looking at a solenoid issue. This is part of your starter. If you can work a test light or meter, you should have 12 volts at the starter on the bigger wire, (From the battery) and 12 volts when the key is at "start" at the smaller wire at the starter that comes from your ignition through the neutral switch. (So it wont start in gear)

Sounds like your battery is bad, or the battery cables have built up corrosion so that you need to clean the battery posts and the inside of the cable terminals. When voltage is low, there is enough power to make the starter relay click but not enough to make the starter crank the engine. You are hearing the relay. It is located at the end of the positive cable from the battery.

How do I drive my car if the remote alarm/keyless entry keychain fob no longer turns off the alarm?

The dealer usually has a contractor that deals with remote entry systems on scheduled days. Most places like carmax do too for about $75-100. Try carmax first. I'll bet you'll save money.

Common problem with this vehicle is the starter relay(part of starter motor)When they go bad the vehicle will not start or turn over. You should get an audible click when it fails.

My Mother-in-law age 86 drove her 95 Olds Ceria to the grocery and when she came out it would not start. It was fine when she went in to the store. It has 35,000 miles on it. What do you think happened?

sounds like the fuel pump went out, a fuel pump doesnt go out by mileage all the time they can also go out do to age the car being a 95 makes the car 16 years old so that is the first thing i would check take off the gas cap and put your ear to the nozzle and have someone turn the key to the on possition and listen for a humming sound if it doent make a sound your fuel pump is defintely went out. hope this helps.

95 F250 not starting

You said you tightened the battery cables, did you check the other end of the negative where it bolts to the engine. When you tightened the cables you also used a battery brush and cleaned the posts and ends?

Cutlass supreme wont start

It could possibly be the starter, but before you get that far make sure the Battery cables are connected very tight. If loose the car won't start or do anything. Also make sure the battery cable is grounded.
