2001 f250 7.3 i have 3 codes come up on my obd11 p0198 p1119 p1280 i put new map sensor and icp sensor in clear code ran test again and still get same readings i've cleared codes still no resolve

The MAP sensor (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE) changes voltage or frequency as intake manifold pressure changes (air flow increases or decreases). The engine's computer uses the reading to advance or ****** engine timing. On older, non-fuel injected engines the vacuum advance on the distributor did basically the same thing.
The MAP sensor also works with other sensors on the Jeep engine, specifically the Throttle Position Sensor (on the throttle body) and Crank Position Sensor (on the transmission bell housing) to control other fuel flow and ignition timing functions.
If you're having problems with the MAP sensor, or are getting a Check Engine light and code for the MAP sensor keep in mind that other problems may cause that error code.
Bad vacuum hoses, vacuum leaks, bad EGR valves, intake manifold leaks, clogged air filter can all affect the MAP. sensor. To know for sure all the other sensors should be checked for correct voltage and perimeters
Also, if you have done any mods to the engine, especially intake, exhaust and ignition mods you may get an error code for the MAP or incorrect reading and a resulting loss in power or increased fuel usage.
The map sensor is easy to change with a couple screws off the Throttle body.. The part the air inters (the air breather). Buy one from the auto parts store if your sure that is the problem and just replace it..There is no adjustments to it...

It really sounds to me that you have a small vacuum leak in a line somewhere.You can try spraying the motor vacuum lines with soapy water with the vehicle running to find a leak. Also listen and feel under the dash for leaks and hissing sounds.

The upper sensors are air fuel sensors and the lower ones are o2 sensors. you cant mix these up. Assuming you did everything right and still coding then either the new sensor b1s2 is bad or the wirng(power and ground need to be checked. A scan tool can be used to look at the performance of the sensors too. Sometimes the codes just point to the area of the problem and changing the part isn't the answer.

This issue from the start was most likely caused by the throttle position sensor. There is a variable resistor inside the sensor that sends a signal from 1 volt to 5 volts, and is constantly monitored by the PCM. There may be an open signal between th 1 and 5 volt signal when the accelerator pedal is pushed up and down. Check the connection before replacing the sensor.

Possible causes for P1505 & p1507
Faulty Idle Speed Control Actuator valve, harness is open or shorted, Idle Speed Control Actuator valve circuit poor electrical connection. No the codes are not related to the EGR. P0198 is related to the engine oil temperature sensor. By the way you should use a meter as supposed to a test light. The test light will not be able to measure 5 volts reference or voltage drops. However I would try replacing the affected parts based on the codes and the info you've provided. Good luck.

That there code is for oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold,here's a link to test and remove.They have the codes from Kia and Hundai as the same.Here's the part,replace with exact fit,no wire stripping and guessing.

Hello Larry, the P1280 code on your Powerstroke is an ICP (injector control pressure, low) sensor circuit fault. Check the wiring harness that plugs in to the valve covers. Make sure there are no breaks, or rub areas. Check the connectors, make sure they are clean & tight. The part number for the ICP sensor is F6TZ9F838A. These have actually come down in price in the last couple of years & are available on ebay. I hope this information is helpful.

P1211, P1249, P1280 fault codes on a 7.3 L turbo diesel


p1211=ICP Not Controllable-regulates oil to Injectors
p1249=Wastegate Fail Steady State Rate
p1280=ICP Circuit Out Of Range
All but p1249 deal with your High Pressure oil system that controls your injectors

Code p1280 is a low or high fuel pressure code. To check that,you need to first check the icp sensor connector drivers side cylinder head front. The sensor is located between the valve cover and the block. Try wiggling the connector while the truck is running to see if there is a change in the running of the engine such as stumbling.

Code p1211 means the ICP pressure is above or below specs meaing there is a high pressure oil concern. You need to monitor the ICP with a scan tool and see which it is. If its high then its most likely a faulty IPR valve. If its low then its most likely a internal leak at the pump or stand pipes.

Code p1139 is for a Water in Fuel Indicator Circuit Malfunction. I would check the wiring on this sensor, and if no issues come from wiring, replace this indicator sensor.

????1762 should be a transmission problem!!! Makes no sense at all.
Review: you had a tps code (but the engine ran well?) You changed it and it threw injector codes and ran poorly...You took it out and put the old one back (was code still there? Did it run well?) You put another new one in and now you have a transmission code? and how is it running?
Only commonality here is that the tps runs in tandem with all other sensors Make sure you clear old codes after doing any work and see what comes up after driving through a few cycles/ And get a volt/ohm meter and test the tps to see if in fact it's out of range. It somehow sounds more like a MAP sensor problem..or even a harness problem....but, test before getting anything else.
