How to get power to radiator fans

Need to know what make model an year vehicle to say for sure . Most radiator fans are controlled by a relay . Do you know what a relay is ? The relay is energized by the engine computer / ECM/PCM . On the engine somewhere is a ECT - engine coolant temperature sensor , this tells the engine computer how hot the engine is . When the engines temp gets to around 201 degrees the computer turns on low speed cooling , then when it gets to around 221 degrees high speed kicks in ! Some vehicles have up too three relays controlling the fans .

2005 Lincoln Aviator the cooling fan troubleshooting it

There is a cooling fan relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . There is a fuse F1.8 20amp in the same under hood fuse / relay box ! If you pull the relay out of it's socket an look on the bottom you'll see some numbers , 30,87,85,86 ! 85an 86 are the control side of the relay an 30 an 87 or the load -fan side ! If you take a test light or volt meter you can check for battery voltage at pin 30 ,you could take a jumper wire from pin 30 to 87 an the fan should run , if the fan motor is good an there is battery voltage at pin 30 ! Pins 85 an 86 are the control side of the relay ,pin 86 should have battery voltage an pin 85 is from the engine computer ,when the temperature get's to 195 - 213 degrees the engine computer will ground pin 85 through a transistor inside the computer energizing the relay turning on the cooling fan ! You can test right there at the relay ! VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis

Wiring to fuel system which is hook up to the computer

The computer is hooked into the fuel pump relay, and controls pump operation by activating the relay. The computer internally grounds the relay coil side, allowing power to pass through the relay to the pump.

What is cod 564 and 111

Code 111 is a good thing. It is simply telling you that the PCM is finished outputting codes and that there are no further problems that it needs to tell you about. On a vehicle that has no problems with the computer controls, code 111 will be the only code that you will get. The time to worry about code 111 is when you cannot get the computer to give you this code. (usually caused by a failed computer)

Code 564 is a cooling fan control circuit code. If your engine has been overheating, this code is telling you why...your cooling fan is not working. Code 564 indicates a failure of the Low speed Fan Control (LFC) relay PRIMARY circuit. It can be caused by an open or shorted LFC primary circuit control or power wire, A defective LFC Relay, or a faulty PCM.

The relay is controlled by the YELLOW/WHITE wire at Pin #35 in the PCM. This wire needs to be checked for an open or shorted circuit. The relay is powered by the ENGINE fuse (15 Amp) in the Instrument Panel Fuse Block. If the engine starts, this fuse is good because is also supplies power to the starter relay. If the fuse is good and the wire has no short to ground or open circuit between the relay and the PCM, then I would try replacing the relay to see if it resolves the problem. If not, you will have to replace your PCM.

What is the relay on the fuse box

A relay is a switch that opens and closes the circuit going to the device it's connected to. In other words, the relay controls whether the device it's connected to is getting power, and the relay in turn is controlled by the computer.
