Question about Lincoln Cars & Trucks

ABS light on in 2004 Lincoln Aviator. Took it to AAA, it is the hydraulic modulation control. Lincoln no longer makes this part. What? My vehicle only has 115000 miles on it. What do I do?

I got a Lincoln navigator 2004 my abs ight and avtra light How turn it off

The ABS warning light is on because the control module for the ABS has sensed a fault, until the fault is repaired the light will remain on and you have no ABS brakes. You need the ABS system scanned for the fault code to see what part or wiring is defective. When the system is repaired the light will go out.

I have a 2004 lincoln aviator and my abs light comes on what does that mean

check fuses and relays ---that their is a problem with the anti lock brake system--have vehicle scanned for code most auto stores offer this service for free --you can check your system -check the fuses and relays -look and see if any damage to the sensor wiring --if the hub/wheel bearing going bad can cause this problem also --and possible bad sensor

Abs light came on while driving and when engine is shut off makes a loud humming sound ? took the fuse out to make hummimg noise go away and now abs light and emergency parking brake are on all the time...

have the abs module checked for codes to find out what the problem is.when the system detects a fault in the system it turns on the abs light and check the e-brake to make sure its all the way off.the humming noise sounds like its coming from the abs hydraulic unit that`s not shutting off.

Replaced rear pads and shoes but abs light is still on. Tracking control is now not functioning correctly. I read the manual and it says if lamp remains lit will not work proberly which inturn disengages...

you can try to bleed the brakes at all the calipers several times until the fluid is clean coming out the bleeder screws.it sounds like when you pushed the pistons back into the calipers you pushed dirt back through the system and has lodged in the abs hydraulic unit causing the light to come on.you say the abs light is still on does this mean it was on before you replaced the brakes.if so then you had a code in the abs controller that should have been checked before and repaired.when the abs sets code it automatically shuts down the traction control and all wheel drive because of the abs light being on.

CHANGED WHEEL ASSBLY ON 2004 AVIATOR LIGHTS CAME ON

It looks as though by doing a repair yourself ( I'm glad someone still does) you probably disrupted the sensor for those indicator lights, a quick trip to the dealers programmer and everything should be fine and dandy.  Hope this helps :)

ABS hydraulic control unit

Go to Module Master. I had the same problem sent mine in and came back. took less then 5 minutes to R/R. www.modulemaster.com

Prior to 2004, Durangos with 4 wheel ABS use the Kelsey Hayes Dodge controller attached to the hydraulic unit. Durangos with just rear wheel ABS use the Kelsey Hayes 125 located separately from the hydraulic unit.
2004 and later Durangos use the Bosch 5.4 controller.

Kelsey Hayes Dodge 1) Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2) Push the harness connector locks to release the locks, then remove the connectors from the CAB.
3) Disconnect the pump motor connector.
4) Remove screws attaching CAB to the HCU.
5) Remove the CAB.

Kelsey Hayes 125 1) Push the CAB harness connector lock to release the lock and remove the connector from the controller.
2) Remove the RWAL valve harness connector from the controller.
3) Remove the controller mounting screws and remove the controller from the mounting bracket.

Bosch 5.4 1) Pull out the side locking tab on the Bosch controller as shown.
2) Remove the connector.
3) Remove the 6 screws and separate the controller from the hydraulic unit.
