I have a question about where I'm not getting power. I was changing the trans on my 01 tiburon and when I was putting the battery connections back on I accidentally arced engine ground to the positive

The body ground was attached on the negative and I had smoke come from behind the engine.

Here's what I checked and verified.
    - Starter is still in working condition.
    - ECM is good.
    - All my power and ground wires are hooked up.
    - Ignition switch isn't fried.
    - relays and fuses in the power distribution center are all ok.

After checking and probing every 3" of wire on main wires with my power probe i still don't have power. Where am I losing it?

Check and test fuses and relays then invest in a meter and check circuits

SOURCE: Finding something under the hood

The IAT sensor measures the temperature of the intake nmanifold. The ECM uses this sensor reading to set injection timing and adjust the air-fuel ratio. If the fuel mileage and power output of you engine seem low, some owners have found improvement in EGT, fuel economy, and power after cleaning carbon from the IAT sensor in at the rear of the intage manifold.936b43d.gif

SOURCE: trans fluid

the trans pan has 2 access ports one is the drain the larger one is a standpipe. fluid is added through that hole with car level and in the air, also trans has to be at a set temp. the fluid will need to be injected into stand pipe till it runs back out ,that is your setting for fluid level and cannot be done any other way

SOURCE: What is the battery vent hose on the 2000 buick

Since the battery is located inside the passenger compartment (under the rear seat), the vent hose is needed to vent the sulfuric acid fumes to the outside of the car - away from the passengers.

you forgot to put the crank sensor back on, or you broke it, or you forgot to hook it back up, or you pinched the harness when you tightened the trans. to the block.

I want to change my 6 speed transmission to automatic how much trouble is it in a 2003 hyundai tiburon

It would be a fairly difficult project. You'ld need to change trans mount, different driveshaft, shifter & linkage, add a torque converter, new radiator w/trans cooler built in lower section, cooler lines. On top of all that, Hyundai automatic transmissions are very unreliable.

How to change a battery for 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT? Theres a nut with a washer that is screwed down on the battery terminal

Just remove the nut and washer on both post. If you have a rod that locks the battery down, loosen it up so you can remove the clamp that holds the battery down.
Remove negative battery cable first, then positive cable.
When putting the cables back on, positive gets put on first, then negative.

I have an 04 hyundai tiburon and the driver side window will roll up sometimes, and other times it will stop halfway. It has been this way for a while, and I can push down or pull up on the window and then...

Hello There,

When you bought the car and the dealer sent it for rust proofing etc, they would have put the cables which connect the power windows to the fuse box back together loosely, this is a usual occurrence and a tricky way to get you back and have this and that changed and put you out of pocket. all you need to do is have a trusted mechanic take the inside part of the door off. It unclicks quite easily. and have them reconnect the cables properly. You should never have a problem with your window again.

Cant seperate trans from motor 2003 tiburon 2.0 manual all bolts removed

At the top of the transmission where the hydraulic clutch cylinder rod is attached, you have to remove the lever from the shaft (14mm nut), because the clutch is the 'PULL' type pressure plate bearing system. After you remove the trans, you will need to remove the bearing from the pressure plate and put it back on the input shaft collar in the trans before reinstalling the trans.

01 tiburon, alarm reset? wont start

I had the same problem because I store my car in the garage in the winter. I found that replacing the positive/negative cables with new ones and also if you still have your spare key, try putting one key in the ignition and turn to acc before turning it over click your alarm button on your spare set of keys and the alarm should reset itself and the car should start. i hope this helps you, i just finished changing my spark plug wires because I had a code P302 which made my 2nd cylinder misfire, so if your tiburon is around 180,000 km then you should change it too, I recommend Bosch they are the best.
take care

2001 Hyundai Tiburon automatic transmission problem

Okay, I baught an 01' tiburon last march. When I first had trouble with the tranny it wouldnt shift into fourth and no it wasnt the overdrive button. Then it started downshiftling like what your experiencing then I lost reverse. Ammco rebuilt the tranny. I would take it to them, they will inspect it for free. You may just need a tran fluid flush. You should know that in the automatics the tranny is the weakest part of the car. The engines are great, just everything around them seems to fall apart after 120,000 miles.
Ammco offers a free inspection service. However Just from experience - if you need a new auto tranny it is cheaper to buy one already rebuilt (with warrantee) and pay to have it installed than to rebuild the one you have.
Cheers to hyundai challenge : )
