How come I have a bad smell when I start my 05 Pontiac Montana SV6 and heat won't kick in??

Any chance you have loose "fan" belts, they may be slipping and it smells like burning rubber? Or could be a bad coolant leak if the smell is like antifreeze, so not enough coolant to get to the heater coil. Have you checked your coolant level recently?
And perhaps all fluid levels need to be checked. Have you had it serviced by a competent well recommended Mechanic at the recommended service times?

Burning smell oil

Have you checked for oil leaks? Valve cover gasket or gaskets if a V6 would be the most common oil leak. Only with heat or have you tried with a/c ?

I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt, 2.2L. I am loosing coolant. There are no leaks from the overflow to the radiator, to the block, nor to the heater hoses. I can smell coolant while driving with the heat on. ...

if you are seeing antifreeze coming out of the little black hose, your heater core is leaking,
That little hose is for the AC,it is designed to let the moisture drain from the "evaporator",this is the unit that gets cold in the car,it is in the same housing as the heater core, but seeing just water from this hose is normal.so you need to check to see if that liquid has a green or yellow color to it like your coolant, touch it with your fingers, coolant feels like a thin oil,or if you can smell it to smell the sweetness odor of coolant.hope this helps.

Why is it that i smell antifreeze coming into the car through the air vents

99% of the time it is a leaking heater core that gives you the antifreeze smell.......it will coat the inside of the windshield too possibly reducing vision under certain conditions.
Clean it well after changing the heater core.

I get a smell of antifreeze when I put the outside

Firsdt check the radiator cap thats it tight , then check for any anti freeze visible on the engine, then check under the car for any leaks. Is the smell of anti freeze inside the car ? , check the heater core you may have a leak there. the newer heater cores are aluminum and certain anti freezes, are extra acidic , which causes the anti freeze to eat at the heater core causing leaks, it maybe be a pin hole leak in the heater core ,causing the smell.

You will also smell antifreeze/Prestone Sweet smell if the heater core is leaking and the windshield will steam up in cold winter not to mention the obvious coolant loss. i would think if it's water, unless you are using water in the cooling system, then it could be caused by the AC when it's on. This is normal for the hoses to have moisture on them and you will see it on the ground underneath the car when the AC is running.

Smell of oil in car when heater is turned on

The oil smell may be trapped in the car's cabin air filter.  Locate it and replace it.  Then on a dry day, spray A/C deoderizer (Fridge Fresh) in the cowl area with the heater blowing on high and all four windows open. Repeat a few times in an hour or so, then let it air out well.

Problem with heater core in a 2001 Subaru Legacy

If you smell antifreeze then the core may be leaking. Burning oil may be rocker covers leaking on the exhaust and the odor being drawn in by the fan. In any case replacing the clutch wouldn't necessarily cause the problem.
