The wire for the light is connected to a switch inside the latch side of the seat belt. It can get knocked loose if you have a lot of stuff under the seat. The switch cab go bad too. That will require replacing just the latch side of the belt, not the entire belt.
1 - Open the driver-side door of your Ranger. Use a flashlight to locate the fuse panel beneath the dash area on the driver side of the truck, just inside the door. The fuse panel door will be labeled "FUSES" or something similar.
2 - Grasp the handle of the fuse panel cover and pull it straight off the panel. Set the cover aside in a safe place.
3 - Remove the rubber-tipped fuse puller from the panel. The fuse puller looks a little bit like a pair of tweezers with rubber tips.
4 - Grasp the top of the fuse you want to change with the fuse puller. Pull the fuse straight out of the panel. Discard the old fuse.
5 - Press the new fuse into place. If the empty slot is difficult to get to, use the fuse puller to help you get it into place. Press it in until it stops, so it is properly seated in the fuse panel.
