Traction control does not always work

Automatic Traction Control, or any TC system that relies on looking at individual wheel speed, will always do this. If all four wheels are spinning at the same speed (with allowances for turning), it will shut off. If some wheels start spinning faster than others, it will reduce power to the faster wheels and increase power to the slower wheels with the assumption that the slow ones are gripping well and the fast ones are spinning freely. It takes several revolutions of the wheels, and sometimes more than a second for these decisions to be made.

need new wheel bearing,it is actually called hub bearing,need to change the hub assembly,do yourself a favor,either by ac delco,or timken brand any thing else is garbage

Basicly olny two wheels are driven at any one time on this system . One in the front and one in the rear its a limited slip system so the wheel that is slipping and spinning faster cuts out and the wheel that is getting traction will kick in bolth front and rear cairrirs idealy . If you could give some more detail about the problem and be specific and give me engine size witch should be a 4.3 Vortec and the ID of the transmission witch should be a 4L60-E im sure i could help you Thank you

I think I know what you are asking; This is called a rear wheel drive vehicle and uses a differential which IS the axle or "rear end" (because it is in the rear end of the vehicle). What a differential is is simply a set of gears that obviously drive the rear wheels but, when you turn a corner the wheel speed changes. One will be going faster than the other depending on which way you turn. This gear set by design, allows the different speeds to not be noticed by the driver and not wear down tyres or break components. Pretty cool huh?! 2000 gmc k1500 rear wheel hops when turning in 4wd

when 4x4 is engauged it forces wheels to lock, hence when turning one wheel is turning faster than the other causing it to Hop. remember the wheels are forced to turn at exact speed at all times during 4x4 operation, thats why you dont use it on dry areas

The rear differential is doing its job. The wheels are turning at different speeds as you turn, because the radius of the inside wheel is far smaller than the radius the outside wheel makes as it turns. The differential keeps both wheels spinning at the same rate, which means the inside tire is spinning faster than it needs to while in the turn.
