Exterior door handle on 97 thunderbird

You will have to remove the door panel. To do this use a phillips screwdriver and remove the two screws under the inside door handle. Then lift and remove the section. Remove another screw from the interior lower left corner. Pry the window crank apart "if exists" then use a T20 torq bit to remove the screw in handle. Remove the panel by lifting and pulling at same time. With window in up position you can see inside the hole a rod going from the door handle to a bracket with a Yellow clip. Slide the clip to the open position and pull the rod out of the clip. From the outside of door under the handle there are two rivets. Use a punch and knock out the center of each rivet. Then use a 1/4" drill bit and drill out the rivet. A flat tip screwdriver will be used to knock off the rest of the rivet. You will need two flat head screws and lock nuts or to reinstall the handle. Lift out old handle with attached rod. Twist rod as you pull to remove it and install it into the new handle. Place the rod through the hole and look inside to be sure is will move to the location of the yellow clip.Install the screws from the outside and the nuts from the inside and tighten. From inside connect the rod to the yellow clip. Lift on the rod while closing the clip. Then test door handle. If it doesn't work properly the rod was not lifted or pulled outward enough. Redo that step until you get it right. Reinstall inner panel as removed.

I am trying to take the passenger door panel off of my 2003 kia spectra however it still seems connected towards the front side of the door but i tryed to removed the two tan screws just free spin i do...

hello,
Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent shock when handling the door components. Loosen the cable's nut with the pliers and slide it away. Pop off the side-view mirror interior panel with the tweeter on it. Use the door panel trim tool or a flat-bladed tool, such as a putty knife, wrapped in masking tape. Once the panel is off, unplug the speaker connection from behind it. Push the connector's tab in with a flat head screwdriver and pull the connector away. Open the door fully to expose the screw cover on the front part of the door panel. Pry out the screw cover with a flat head screwdriver. Pry out the small centerpiece; not the ring surrounding it. Behind the cover, you'll find a Phillips screw; remove it.
Open the screw cover flap behind the inside door handle. Insert the tip of a flat head screwdriver into the upper-slot; push down to open the flap. Remove the Phillips screw from behind the flap. Pull off the plastic door handle surround piece. Insert the door trim tool behind the panel; pull it back to pull the panel off. Slide the surround piece away from the door panel.
Remove the circular screw cover from the inside door pull storage compartment. Pry it up with the flat head screwdriver. Remove the Phillips screw behind the cover. Remove the screw cover from the rear-edge of the door panel. This cover is similar to the one on the front part of the door panel; pry out the center part, not the ring surrounding it. Remove the Phillips screw behind it.
Remove the two Phillips screws visible along the bottom part of the door panel.
Pry around the perimeter of the door panel with the door trim tool. Pull the tool handle back to pop the door panel clips out. Do this for each side, except for the top. Once the clips are unhooked, the panel is ready for removal.
Gently pull the door panel away from the Optima's door, but only enough to access the area behind it. The connections for the power equipment must be unplugged. Reach around and depress the connection tabs with the tip of the flat head screwdriver; unplug the connection. There are three connections to unplug. Once they are unplugged, pull the door panel away.

Thanks

NEED TO REMOVE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL ON A 2006 NISSAN 350Z

I did this myself before:

Removing the Door Panel

The first thing to do is remove the tab in your door handle that covers the screw (using the flat head screw driver), which secures the handle and window/lock switches to the door panel. Using the Phillips head screw driver, remove the screw. Now, remove the door handle and locate the tabs securing the wire harness for the door locks & power windows. Using the flat head, push down on the tabs and pull the male end out of the wire harness with your other hand. You can now locate 2 of the 3 bolts/screws that secure the door panel to the door.Using the 10mm socket, 3′ extension, and the 1/4′ drive socket wrench – remove the bolts/screws. Located behind the interior door handle is a plastic covering with a hole cut in it, that goes around the rubber piece that is there to stop the handle.Use the flat head screw driver to remove that plastic piece. Behind that piece, you will find the 3rd and final bolt/screw that secures the door panel. Using the 10mm socket, 3′ extension, and 1/4′ drive socket wrench, remove the bolt/screw. At this point you can pull the door panel off by hand. There are only tabs holding it on now, and they all will pop off. Now on the inside of the panel, you will need to locate the backside of the interior door handle. Remove the cables that operate the door lock, and opening mechanism. No tools are required for this step. Now you have the metal door panel, which is secured by 11-12 bolts/screws around the boarder of the panel.Locate the wire harness for the window motor in the upper right corner of the metal door panel. Using the flat head screw driver, disconnect the wire harness. After removing the panel, you will need to push the rubber grommet through the panel – the wire is attached to it. There will also be two white tabs on the backside of the panel that secure the female end of the window motor wire harness to the panel. Using your fingers (or pliers) pinch them, to remove the harness.

At this point, you can remove the 11 – 12 bolts/screws that are holding the panel to the door. The panel will not fully remove, but will come off a little bit. Now for the gold colored bolts/screws and nuts.Three of the bolts/screws are what secure the window motor to the panel. The other two bolts/screws, and the 2 nuts hold the brackets that hold the glass in place.there is one of these bolts/screws, and one of these nuts on each bracket (on each side). Using the 10mm socket, remove all of the bolts/screws.The Nuts are a 12mm socket; remove them as well. The panel should now come off, and the motor & guts of the door, will be revealed.

2003 honda civic how to remove door panel

Step one Look at the inside door handle. Behind it you should see a little cover, You pop that off and there will be 2 phillips head screws behind it. remove them.

Pop out the door handle, and unplug the power lock plug,

Youll also have to take the door lock rod, by spinning the plastic door handle 90 degrees until u can wiggle it out.

next remove the sail panel( The little triangle shaped piece in the corner of the door on the top, ( may have a tweeter in it) ( it just pops out)

Next take a screwdriver (flat head) and pry off the cover of the door handle, there will be
2 phillips head screw behind it ( remove screws)

Unplug power window connector (big green plug)

Now just start gently pry the door panel off with a screw driver, see if u can peek behind the panel and see where the panel clips are, and pry near those areas

How do I remove the front interior door panel polo 1400 1999

You'll need a torx bit for the bottom screws. The door handle comes apart (using a screw driver) to expose 2 phillips screws holding the door handle to the door, after you get those out, pop the rest of the push clips out by firmly pulling on the door panel near the bottom, There may also be another screw on the TOP Front (near the mirror) very small phillips. Once you have the door panel loose, lift UP on the door panel to remove. Once you get that panel off, you'll have to remove all the other screws to get the window regulator out (lots of 10mm bolts). Unclip / unconnect the connections etc..

Manual window crank handle-how to remove

There are 2 ways the handle can be attached. One way is there is a cover on the handle that can be popped off and there is a screw holding it on. Or there is a clip on the handle between the handle and the door panel. There is a tool made for this, but it can be done without the tool. If you push in (towards the door) on the door panel and look at the back side of the handle you will see the clip. Simply pop off the clip with a flat blade screwdriver and pull the handle off. To install the handle put the clip back on the handle first and then push the handle onto the shaft. Hope this helps.

How do i remove the door cover in a 1986 nissan d-21 2x4?

These are general instructions, the first thing to do is remove any screws and unscrew and remove the door lock plunger at the top of the door, there will usually be two on the interior door handle inset in the side and possibly one on the door latch handle,I'll assume you have a crank window not power,so to pull the handle take a screw driver and gently pry between the panel and handle there will a small clip that holds the handle to the shaft you can usually push it off with the tip of a flat screwdriver, be careful they like to fly off.If you do have power windows a small screwdiver on either side and then pry genly up will remove it and pull the wiring plug to the switch. On the latch handle if there is a screw remove it and then pull the handle out this will give you enough space to pull the plastic cover behind it,if there is no screw squeeze the top and bottom towards each other ang genlty pry with a screw driver and this will remove the beauty ring and there should be an opening in the panel large enough to slip past the latch assembly.Once your pretty sure you have all the screws removed start at the bottom corner of the panel and gently pry between the door and the panel with a large screw driver(you can purchase a tool at a parts store to do this but it can be done safeley with a flat screwdriver)this will start pulling the plastic fastners that attach the panel to the door, its possible you'll break a few but you can buy these at your parts store, continue doing this across the bottom and up the sides, you'll know if you missed a screw at this point if the panel doesn't start pulling away from the door freely.Once your sure you have all clips free and no screws holding the panel on remove any wiring attached to the panel(window, speaker)pull the bottom of the panel out just a bit and push up on the bottom and this will disengage the panel fromm the top of the door.Reverse to re-install,if you do have crank windows put the handle slightly on the shaft and put the clip on the handle, then push the handle back on.Hope this helps ,if it does please give me a good rating!!!
